Keepin' It Country!

About Me

From the time she was two years old, this talented Arkansas native knew what she wanted to be. Discovering her sister's record collection set in motion a series of events that would change her life and dreams forever. For Kendra, Elvis Presley was the record of choice. In 1982, after being crowned Little Miss Greenwood, she began performing publicly; from senate races, river festivals and schools to nursing homes, dance halls and concert stages. She also appeared for the Muscular Dystrophy Telethon, St. Judes Childrens Hospital, Fulfill a Dream and the Arkansas Childrens Hospital. She was even featured as a special guest on the Louisiana Hayride in 1987.In early 1989, Kendra released the single "Tribute To Billy" on Star Dawn Records, which debuted on the independent charts at No. 42. Shortly thereafter, during a trip to "Music City," she obtained a manager who secured a booth for her at Fan Fair. She was also featured on the CNN Entertainment/Fan Fair 89 Special, all the while signing autographs for hundreds of awaiting fans. In August of 1989, Kendra and her mother, Dee, packed up and made the move to Nashville. It was in Nashville that Kendra discovered her talent for writing. She showcased that talent when she wrote and performed "Where The Road Divides," for her graduating class at Starwood Amphitheater in 1993.What makes Kendra different from every other artist out there? Simple. She's real. Just a homegrown country girl from Greenwood, Arkansas who wants to put a little country back into country music.
