About Me
Stephenie Hargrove grew up walking next to the San Joaquin River with her dog at sunrise along the train tracks, writing songs with a strong mindset of hope as dawn broke. While trains hurried by and engines rang Stephenie sang to the sight of glimmering sun on the surface of rippling water. And, like that river, Stephenie knew she had to keep rolling, as the tides go in and out, so she knew it was her time to leave California and move to Nashville. With eyes full of dreams, a heart full of music, and a car full of her life (including her mom and her dog, Sassy), Highway 5 carried them south, and Interstate 40 led them east to Music City.Upon arrival in Nashville, Stephenie immediately began attending Belmont University as a Business major with a Music Business emphasis. In between her hours at school, completing homework and going to work, Stephenie studied the craft of songwriting and attended various songwriting workshops. Before graduation, a good friend and she co-founded, and named themselves Co-Presidents, of an extracurricular organization called, Belmont Animal Rights Coalition. The group fundraised to earn money for Farm Sanctuary, a farm animal rescue.Since recently earning her BBA from Belmont, Stephenie has been performing at fairs, venues, parties, and working in the studio. Her Music Business degree has opened many doors in relation to working on the business side of the music industry. Doors that have led her down halls with many more doors being opened; and at every opportunity, Stephenie is soaking up experience, and building on her knowledge. As for the entertainment industry, she and her good friend, Art Wasem, appeared on the Jerry Springer Show, setting records for the show: during their 30-minute international TV broadcasts (now in reruns), there was no bad language, fighting or nudity. For those curious minds: Art was Jerry’s impersonator and Stephenie was his “Fake TV Girlfriend.â€Stephenie’s desire to help animals has not diminished since graduation, in fact, she just started an animal charity operation called, Stephenie Hargrove Presents. At her most recent event, The First Annual Music City Harmony Howling for Hounds, it earned the Nashville Humane Association $231, helping homeless and abandoned animals in their community. Each Friday morning Stephenie records a radio spot with the great people of WKDF 103.3 presenting listeners with information about the Nashville Humane Association’s Pets of the Week up for adoption and upcoming events.
