Likes: Going out, live music, books, TRAVEL(!), anything outside(hiking, water, xcountry skiing, gardening, etc), animals, languages, ART, music, WRITING. . . .I'm really interested in almost everything, which is partly why I haven't settled on a career yet. Am way into design, in a way that makes me think that I should be a tattoo artist. If only I could decide between that and world domination. Sigh.
I have a wide range of friends from all different backgrounds . . . .always room for more!I love music and am an artist and writer. If you fall into any of those categories, drop me a line. Creativity should be boundless!! Go for it!!I'm not here searching for a man. . . I get into enough trouble in 'real' life already without adding cyberspace to the mix. :-)
blues(Billie Holiday, "Blues Unlimited" from the UK), bluegrass (current fave "Hit & Run Bluegrass"), retro country, some techno/trance, opera(L. Price), classical, electro/newwave(my friends "Supercheap", check them out on myspace, "LadyTron", "The Gossip"), some celtic, esp. my friends "Boys of the Lough" out of Ireland/Scotland. Also like; Ryan Adams, Chris Isaak, Mazzy Star, "The Yeah, Yeah, Yeah's" . . . . I like music. A lot. I should stop now. Keep Music Live!
This will be a very odd list . . . off the top of my head: foreign films, Princess Bride, Dumb and Dumber, The God's Must Be Crazy, As Good as it Gets, Orange County, adapted Shakespeare & Jane Austen, Bubble Boy. . . I like offbeat and I like quoteable lines. . . . and I grew up with a younger brother, which should explain a lot of my viewing choices. :-) I really like British humor and find myself oddly drawn to Craig Ferguson movies, especially Saving Grace and Born Romantic.
!UGLY BETTY!! Am a wee bit hooked on SCRUBS. Just a bit. I know this is really redneck(and here I am, not a redneck), but now I can't miss Dog the Bounty Hunter. (I give permission to laugh hysterically.) Travel Channel, Discovery Channel, BBC. Late Night: Craig Ferguson!
There is no room to list. The one thing I am addicted to is books. Especially buying them, go figure. Top of my list at the moment is "Cat's Cradle" by Kurt Vonnegut, the end of the world with a warped and cutting sense of humor. Any travel, esp. humor.
Dr. Paul Farmer, amazing doctor who works in Haiti 8 months out of the year working with the people there and developing viable solutions for TB, etc. Spends the rest of his time traveling the world as a writer and advocate for the poor and still considers his email workload of 200 emails to answer daily "workable". READ "MOUNTAINS BEYOND MOUNTAINS." Also, Freya Stark , intrepid traveler and writer . . . she changed the face of history forever. MY BIGGEST HERO.
