Yes it's true, O.P. Stylee is back on the music circuit with style. Regrouped and rejuvenated by singer/lyricist O.P.Gipson, guitarist/ vocalist/ songwriter Aaron Novak and bassist/ songwriter Mark Powell, the band has continued with the original concept of blending reggae rhythms with rock, pop and country accents. Anchored by drummer Dave Butler, the newest member, the lineup is complete. Dave has experience working with many talented local artists including Slim the Drifter, Peter Will, Medicine Party and The 80's punk rock pioneers, Primer Gray. The original band established its' fan base in Bakersfield, CA and collected evenmore fans up and down the state as they performed in various cities rangingfrom Tahoe to San Diego. The success of the bands catchy lyrics and dancetunes allowed O.P. to branch out nationally.O.P. Gipson and Daniel Burt gave birth to the first incarnation of the bandwhich originated in Bakersfield. Other original members included Alan Alexander, Larry Hernandez, Mike Day, Grammy winner Dave Neuhauser and Latin LoverLouie Cruz. O.P. Stylee has shared the bill with fellow reggae bandsSteele Pulse, Eek a Mouse, Big Mountain, theUntouchables, and most recently followed Fishbone on stage at the Rockin' Roots Fest in Bakersfield.Although life's events led some of the original members of O.P. Stylee in new directions, the current line up has recently been recharged by
modern technological advances in the music industry, allowingthe band to bring forth a fresh mix to their music. These collaborativeefforts, which elaborate on the original stylee sound, paved the way for amore sophisticated and innovative form of cultural pop and brings sounds fromaround the globe onto one stage.The bands revamped motif, with the still distinctive voice of O.P., isenjoyed and well received as longtime fans and new listeners alike hit the dancefloor at O.P.Stylee's shows.
