I started out building Theremins and Theremin type synthesizers as a hobby and over time have wound up Hot Rodding mass produced stomps and building my own flavor of specialized "boutique" FX units.

Custom Designs:
For the most part my own designs were birthed from a need for a unit that just isn't out there in the market. From specialized pre-amp/buffers to A-B/Loop switchers Nux FX are designed to stand out from the rest of the pack.
I have also been commissioned to build high end Boutique quality clones suh as the Rat, Tube Screamer, etc and of course those always include my personal touch such as my brand of custom graphics, high end fidelity and true bypass switching etc.
I have also been commissioned to do a few re-boxes. Such as the out of production very lush and beautiful sounding Ibanez CS-5, which was housed in a plastic shell. It does much better in a new electronically shielded aluminum housing and being modded to have true bypass switching. Also added in that mod "staccato", "Warp" pots and a "Chorus/Vibrato" switch. I actually love this re-box so much I got a CS-5 from ebay to re-box my own! It's the only chorus I use on my board now.
If you need a special unit please hit me up. My "Juke Bone", "Super Looper", "Aurora", etc where all born out of request.
Pedal Mods/repairs:
Modding aka hot rodding is the biggest part of what I do. There are so many pedals out there that are well constructed such as BOSS that sound so much better with just the right modifications.
I can/have modded just about every thing mass produced under the sun with happy customers squealing about how much the sound was improved.

Typical mods that I do a lot of are;
BOSS SD-1 BOSS DS-1 BOSS CS-3 BOSS CH-1 BOSS DD-3 Ibanez TS-9 Ibanez TS-7 Ibanez TS-5 Ibanez DL-5 Ibanez CS-5 Ibanez AD-9 ETC...
Basically, any pedal can be modified/hot rodded. Have you ever plugged in a a pedal and said something like " this would sound perfect if it just had more bite, or more bass or less mids etc...". What you want is more than likely there hiding in the pedal, it just needs to be found by changing components. Don't settle for a sound, Obtain the right sound with a modification!
In the same order as a mod are pedal repairs. Most often repairs consist of a bad solder joint or a broken component. Rarely am I not able to repair a damaged pedal. And I don't charge if I can't fix it!
Analog vs. Digital
At this moment in time I'm not producing "Digital" effects such as phasers, flangers, chorus, *delay, etc.
Digital effects are very complex circuits that are generally not affordable when being custom built by hand one unit at a time. I do however, mod/repair/re-box them, see my section(s) above on that. I have built a chorus and an analog delay for my own R&D and plan on releasing my *delay unit in early 2009.
YES, A Nux FX DELAY PEDAL! Early 2009
Closing and Contact
I build and/or mod all my FX by hand using only quality components and my prices are very affordable. Drop me a line and let me know how I can help you get "that sound" you've been after.
