Soulfire was formed early in 2003, when two young college students saw a need to engage the hip hop youth culture that most churches were missing due to tradition and formality. As the two ran after school programs in Dallas and kids clubs in broken down apartment complexes, they began forming hip hop praise songs, taking back what satan was using to destroy men with, and using it to glorify the Son of God. The youth responded, with kids singin the songs in the afterschool programs and in a Friday night hip hop service that was started. Although they did this entirely on a volunteer basis, the church they were holding the hip hop praise services at, eventually merged with another church, and the Friday night services came to an end. But with every door God closes, He'll open a better one, and so He did. Word started getting out about what SOULFIRE did, and churches called to set up concerts and evangelism events around SOULFIRE's music and ministry. SOULFIRE continues to travel and do street outreaches, minister to homeless shelters, perform at block parties, clubs, and youth events. As the two young college students served side by side, eventually they became best friends and now, PROKLAIMA and ECHO, called by God, serve as a married couple ministering to everyone they can reach. Not only do they share their testimony of how Christ transformed them on an individual basis, but they also have an extremely powerful testimony how they walked the line few walk today and saved themselves for marriage, keeping themselves pure for their spouse. As a result they have a marriage that cannot be destroyed, and one that is more fulfilling than any relationship the world could offer. Soulfire exists due to the desire to impact troubled youth and see God restore hope and liberty to the captives. Members of Soulfire consider themselves to be nothing more than servants of Christ who want to restore men by bringing them into a relationship with The Way, The Truth, and The Life. Soulfire's mission is not to make a name for themselves, or to become the most popular rap group known. Soulfire seeks to go into the streets, homeless shelters, youth centers and other places to minister. This includes those un-evangelized parts of the world to let them know of the only name on earth by which men can be saved. (Acts 4:12). Soulfire gives all glory to God for what He has allowed us to do so far, thanks to those who have allowed them to partner with them in ministry, and is looking forward to the future. God is the vine, and we acknowledge we can do nothing apart from Him as we are His branches.Get Your Own! | View Slideshow
