For over 100 years, the success of the VFW has been built upon millions of volunteer hours, strong support of our country's youth, major patriotic and educational efforts, and unwavering services to our military, its veterans, and their families. Of all we do, our programs make the greatest impact on the lives of those we serve and honor.
Good intentions alone won't get the job done.
Our success, like that of any worthwhile endeavor, is directly proportionate to the amount of financial contributions we can continue to receive. For many years, our programs were supported by VFW membership dues alone. Then they were supplemented by donations from our members and the public. But, our needs have long outgrown those resources.
To keep our programs healthy and viable, we are currently seeking financial support from various organizations, to provide assistance for existing and future programs.
Created as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, the VFW Foundation is free to pursue the millions of corporate and foundation dollars across America. And, as a 501(c)3 foundation, we can also offer expanded advantages to individual donors who wish to support our programs financially.
Under this format, the VFW has become aggressive in the pursuit of funds from other foundations, corporate and wealthy benefactors. The hope, of course, is to grow our successful programs and create brand new ones so that we can continue our mission of improving the lives of our military, our veterans, their families, and the communities in which they live and work.
Bottom line, the VFW Foundation grows the VFW.
This Foundation allows members and friends of the VFW alike across the nation to help support all the causes we so strongly believe in. In the end, the VFW Foundation will enable the VFW to grow, prosper, and provide many years of service to this great country and those who have proudly served it.
