About Me

Miles Carpenter has been exhibiting regularly since his first show "The Festering Law" in 1991 at the F.T.I building in Fremantle. Since then he has prolifically produced works in many themes and mediums. He has featured in over twenty-three exhibitions and festivals predominantly in Western Australia, and produced shows in a variety of mediums independent of gallery curation. Outside the galleries Miles has involved himself with murals, stage sets, mobiles, artwork for CDs, music clips, short films, body painting in clubs, design, art tuition, and as an assistant to the art curator of Murdoch University.
Miles approaches his work with vigour to challenge himself, believing in diversity to discover ones complexities. His passion for the unexplored has taken him to some strange lands featuring in several of his exhibitions. Including residencies in Israel and Thailand. Other themes revolve around the passion of love making, ghostly horses, Fremantle, the human canvas and alien archaeology. He now works from his studio in Fremantle since his return from India in late 1998, and has launched Crimson Wolf Fine Art with Artist and partner Teresa Richards.
