About Me


Marcial Rios Salcido is a first generation Mexican-American and an alumnus of the Chapman University Film School. He specializes in writing and directing dramas. Rios has written, produced and directed all of his own projects, including his current work, “Maquillaje”, and his thesis film, La Tierra del Dolor, which premiered at the Big Bear Lake International Film Festival and was an official selection in CineFestival San Antonio, Cine Sin Fin Los Angeles, and Colored Pictures Short Film Festival North Carolina. Marcial Rios honors and awards include a stage play, Los Fieles, which was performed for more than three thousand audiences at the Riverside Convention Center, in California. He won a spot at Film Independent's "Project: Involve" as a writer/director and his feature screenplay, “Rocketeros”, was chosen to be part of the Killer Scripts List. Marcial Rios Salcido worked for over 2 years as head writer and producer for the Imagen award winning Latino music channel, LATV; He developed and produced "Se Habla Rock" for MUN2 a division of NBC/Universal; He just finished his anticipated screenplay "Bloodlines: Suo Pempore" and is currently writing "The Gambling Souls of Jonas and Nina," a teenage thriller; and casting for TLC's hit series, LA Ink with Kat Von D. Rios returns to the film festival circuit with his first feature film, "Maquillaje," in the summer of 2007.
But seriously I'm just a hard working guy from Santa Ana, California, looking to express himself thru film. I love creating characters and letting them take over my imagination. Music is an important part of my life, I love to discover new bands and see them grow.
