Emerson Stewart Project, Sugarbush

About Me

All insturment played and or programed by Sig Emerson unless other wise noted. Charles Stewart sings the lyrics he wrote and plays that soulful lead in the breakout of " Better Than. My Little Butterfly is a song about loosing friend as we get older and the metaphore with a butterfly's life being very short. Charles and I play contrasting guitar parts and share the sloppy background vocals behind his brilliant lead vocal. Save the water is an insturmental I did a few years ago but has a vibe to it with lots of space. A tribute to Sly Stone. Moving on I played with lots of people in Austin thru the 70's including Crazy World of Arthur Brown with John Stahely on guitar,(Spirit, Jo Jo Gunn), Wayne Harvey's Tabo, Radio Planets, and then on the punkier side of things with Ty Gavin of the Next, Standing Waves, etc . I mixed the board as an equal for a band called Extreme Heat (I tried to get the bass gig but couldn't get them to take me seriously, Ha) and did some sound for Eric Johnson, Passenger(one of Rosco Beck's earlier bands) Buster Brown, Armadillo World Headquarters, The Treehouse, etc. Those were some great times. No Traffic, the best parties and concerts, outdoor fun, Zilker Park, great food, rode a vespa and wore alot of Hawaian shirts. I should remember more but due to the times and my lifestyle I'll claim the fifth. In 1980 I moved to LA, CA and attended Musicians Institute. After graduating for MI, I spent some time with Great Buildings, sharing gigs with Guns and Roses, Mister Mister, Robin Trower, as it evolved into Danny Wilde's solo project bringing back Phil Solem (Great Buildings, Rembrandts, Thrush and featured below) and recruting Pat Mastelotto (Mister Mister, King Crimson, also below). Free downloads at: http://dannywilde.therembrandts.net/boyfriend.htmlOther projects included Broken English, Jennifer Miro, Ian Answorth, Dennis Dragon, Pearly Kings, and more while also working a day gig for Fred Walicki's Westwood Music. At that time I was riding motorcycles and ironically one night walking across Sunset Blvd. in a clearly marked crosswalk, I was hit and run by a car that flew thru it,most probably gangbangers, and thrown several 100 feet. I remember nothing. Lucky to be here talking about it, I made some changes in my lifestyle. Recovery seemed to last forever. A real struggle. In turn I feel blessed in so many ways. In 1992 I moved back to a small town between Austin and Houston called Brenham and now enjoy country living. I live in a old house, built in 1904, have a pond in the front yard, enjoy song writing, building hot rods, motorcycles, old guitars, and gear. I also manufacture quickchange rear ends for hot rodders under the name Rodsville. Was going to give one to Jeff Beck as a wedding gift a year or two ago.. (Jeff, the offers still open) I'm raising a family of 4 yorkies, and other misc. animals, and promoting the values of eating healthy foods, drinking Ionized Water and Juicing almost Daily. My Girl Sallie is a great addition to my life and between us we have 10 dogs, 1 cat, 4 birds, 3 ducks, and every day is the best. Life is good.Writing new material to hopefully have up here shortly. Hoping to find a producer to help our sound. I am currently writing music and recording with Charles Stewart, a soulful singer and songwriter. Everything is done in the shack. Plan to be out playing soon. Plans to put a strong rhythm section togeather. Music that grooves rules. The recording is all being done on some Mackie gear including HDR harddisk recorder and analog 56/8 board and any outboard gear I can manage to scape up. We are living in interesting times. Who'd have thought it would be this easy. The ipods and their conception, buying songs for 99 cents we like, passing on what we don't like. The possibilities. travel layout @ HOT FreeLayouts.com
