The Skanks

Don't be a Sheep....Be a Skank

About Me

In 2003, a group of 7 like-minded friends came together with the idea of forming a band. Roseanne, Rachel B, Charlotte, Rachel C, Jennie, Kathleen and Sally complete the line-up of an all female rock/alternative band. Sharing their love of music and belief that female rock musicians shall not become an extinct species, they began working on covers and then, as they improved, their own material. The name was created as indication that it shouldn't be a crime to look a certain way and be different. Why should we back down to image pressures? Why should we follow a crowd simply to "fit in"? Those who decided to go out wearing what they want, regardless if it happened to be trampy attire; these people became The Skanks.
