Band Members: We'll go from youngest to oldest... There's Amanda Ignas,30, (guitar/vocals) who's the YOUNGER sister of Tara Yarranton,33, (vocals)... They once were Wannamakers. Two sisters: They've been singing together since the get-go! Amanda taught herself to play the guitar when she was 11, and they've been singing ever since she figured out 3 chord songs (Sinead O'Connor-Black Boys on Mopeds). Amanda is a vocal coach and Tara is a sickly talented mom at home. They're both married, with gorgeous kids- 4 altogether.. so it's actually quite a challenge to gig, however, the music is still alive. They love to cover nostalgic songs from their teen-aged lives and have a lot of original material. The originals are a reflection of experiences in relationships with all those around them. They are self-proclaimed hip mommas, who want to stay young and keep bringing out the good music. Thank heaven for music...
Influences: Musical influences... We grew up in a house full of tunes from our dad playing the piano of the Everly Brothers and Big Band Swing to our brother Rob (who recorded, produced and arranged Been Down This Road), playing his R & B records of Prince, Loose Ends and Howard jones... too many to mention... Tara really listened to a lot of New Wave & Alternative, like The Smiths, New Order, The Cure and EVERYTHING. She's always stayed fresh with music tho, bringing Julianna Hatfield, Pixies and Crash Vegas into the mix. Amanda listened to all of it, cause she never could afford to buy her own music... Good thing she had cool siblings to look up to. She did have a dark side that really sunk into grungy Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr., Jungle beats and MOtown.. A lot of our influences can be heard in our music just like anything else. Cola, Sugar, Edie Brickell, Sade, Yaz, Bjork, anything jazz.. there's so much to list.. Our current influences are some Canadian hot stuff like Feist, Broken Social Scene and others like Denmark's Mew and new wavin' Zoot Woman... All great music.
Sounds Like: Our sound? A sizzling pan of rocker folk feel, with a dash of teen-aged aingst and a side of sweet, sweet harmony.. Sound like food...? We're more than a good taste of nostalgia, we're out to sound good too.
Record Label: We're not on a label
Type of Label: None
