The Idyll ov Ghosts project was born in late October 2002 in a cellar in Florence, from an idea of Marco S. (guitar), Lorenzo M. (vocals), and Marco G. (guitar). A little after Andrea R. (bass) joins the band, followed by Tommaso R. (drums). In less than two weeks the band grew stronger and more complete with Davide L. (keyboards), Margherita R. (vocals) and Marta C. (choirs). After a few months dedicated in particular to the creation of original material, during February, Marta C. leaves the band because of personal matters. At the end of May, the band prepared the first demo ..Negative Forms.., which received two reviews form two recording labels:
-Paul Groundwell PEACEVILLE RECORDS: IDYLL OV GHOSTS: Needs a bit more development and stronger execution. Some nice atmospheric touches such as the piano and some of the female vocals . Structurally needs more flow at times as it stops and changes quite frequently. Has some good touches to keep variety like the keyboard melody of the second song.
-Valerie Lynch CENTURY MEDIA: I received your CD, thanks. For the moment were not interested but you have determination and good intuitions, go on that way. Break a leg!
After a summer break, the band had a dead period that ended in middle November with the out-going of Lorenzo M. and Marco S., from the band. The forced re-adjustment of the line up brought the decision not to search for any changes on voice and guitar, and to turn to a bit sweeter style: the old songs were rearranged and Margherita R. became the lead singer. Some new tracks were prepared for the new demo that was ready in May 2004, Stroboscopic Dream. Meanwhile the band participated to some contests like Battle of the Metal Bands, organized by Metal Hammer and Metallus.it, where it gains the 4th place. During the summer the change of the whole rhythmic session takes place, and Lorenzo I. entered as drummer, while the band tried several bass-players. The song No Explain from 2004s demo is inserted in the compilation Sintonie Rumorose released in May 2005. In the month of March the band supports Macbeth playing at Ministry in Florence. During the spring in 2005 the line up finally got complete with Claudia A. playing bass. After summer the band prepares itself to record all the new and old material with the new line-up and arrangements. The demos, completely self-produced, were finished in middle December: the first one contains the new songs and the second one holds the old pieces. Meanwhile the band performs some gigs everywhere with compliments and good reviews in particular about the scenic appearance of the performance.
