The French LA FABRIQUE, formerly located in la Paris-Bastille, and now located in Shibuya, Tokyo, is a global concept that since 1988 has offered its customers French fusion cuisine while providing a showcase for new artistic and cultural trends in the world of audiovisuals, electronic music, fashion and the arts.
With the novel concept of fooding, or food with feeling, guests can enjoy the music of high quality DJs whilst eating in the restaurant during the day, then after 11.30pm the venue becomes a night club with music as diverse and fashionable as its clientele.
The night club is open from 11.30pm to 5am every Friday and Saturday and on days before public holidays, playing a diverse selection of music based around a staple of house, jazz, breakbeats, hiphop, electro and rock.
Famous for the biggest VJ screen in Tokyo, stylish decor and a fashionable but friendly crowd, la fabrique stands out as being different to the monotonous trance and hiphop clubs characteristic of Shibuya, with a selection of varied events every week including long standing favourites such as the funky Chicago house night "SOLID", the lively Mediterranean themed party "MEDVACANCES", the wild Ibiza house nights by CYBER JAPAN, the funky soul and 70s themed event "SEARCHING Playing the Real Stuff", the sylish RnB/hip hop night "PRECIOUS" and so on.
Prestigious artists who have graced the turntables of la Fabrique Tokyo include:
Quest Love (The Roots), Franz Ferdinand, James Murphy (DFA, NYC), Fantastic Plastic Machine, 2 Many DJs, Joachim Garraud (Pacha, Ibiza), Stephane Pompougnac (Hotel Costes), Philippe Cohen Solal (Gotan Project), DJ Yass (Defected), Sergio Flores (Defected), DJ OIL (Troublemakers, Blue Note records), Mitsu the Beats (Jazzy Sport), Zero dB (Fluid Ounce, UK), DJ Heather from Chicago, DJ Hasebe (Warner Japan), Towa Tei (Avex), Madlib (Stones Throw), Joey Youngman (Fetish Recordings), Miles Maeda, Dee Nasty (Les Disques Pirates), Franck Roger (Sun Orchestra, Straight Up), Fredric Galliano (F-Com), Rubin Steiner (Platinum), Manu Boubli (Comet Records), DJ Rork, Charles Schilling (Pschent), Shade (Pschent), Kaori Ichikawa, DJ Morpheus (Crammed, Belgium), Alex from Tokyo, Mitomi Tokoto (VIP Club, Paris), Jerome Sydenham, Derrick May, Toni Allen, Keb Darge...
