About Me

JC NICKLES BIOGRAPHY: MUSICIAN/ACTOR/WRITERYou may not know him yet, but many believe you will. JC Nickles is currently attacking several genres in entertainment and shows no signs of stopping. Though he’s doesn’t have much in recorded data to show his talent other than some home recordings of music and videos, JC has been making music, acting, writing songs and story scripts for sometime now. JC often says he wishes he would have started sooner, but in a way he did. Though his talents haven’t reached much of the public’s eye JC has been doing a lot worth hearing and seeing. At a young age JC showed signs of his gifts. The earliest sign was probably when he attended a school play in his elementary school. The kids didn’t have to do much, but one of the things his mother remembers is him being the only one to hold up a sign and say his line because the other kids were too shy or embarrassed to say anything. The teacher commented that she should have put him in more scenes. Down the line JC picked up an interest in art. He would often draw pictures and as time went on and JC started closing in on his double digits in age he eventually sat down and started making stories in comic book form. His comics show a development in writing skills and art that indicate his style. His comics started off as just Action then as more time went on they became Action/Comedy. Growing up with Spider-Man comic books which contain Action,Drama, & Humor. Though JC was young he was raised in an open-minded household and his mother allowed him to watch horror movies like “Nightmare on Elm Street” when he was a kid. Though the movies gave him nightmares when he was a kid. They became part of his inspiration. JC currently loves to be involved with horror movies and also tends to write story scripts that capture the genres of Action, Comedy, & his favorite Horror. He is planning on making a movie this year (2008) containing those three things and more. JC loves writing for film, but his main love is music. He once played songs on his guitar from 10am to 1am the next day in his basement. When he realized what time it was he decided to put down his guitar down, though he wasn‘t ready to. JC’s Music interest started at a young age, but it wasn’t until he heard Artist like MC Hammer, Kris Kross, Fresh Prince (Will Smith), & Vanilla Ice when he started to pay attention to the music scene. (Don’t make fun, you liked them too at one point) These guys caught his attention in music, but it wasn’t until JC moved to a different location and heard a Rock sound that appealed to him. His new next door neighbor introduced him to a band named Aerosmith. This left JC wanting to hear more rock, but he didn‘t have rock tapes and didn‘t know who else was out there. As time went on he found a channel called MTV and he heard a familiar sound. It was Aerosmith’s song believed to be “Living on the Edge” on TV. JC grew with excitement and started focusing on the video. He saw Joe Perry playing the guitar in the video and Jimmy’s interest grew even more, but it wasn’t ’til after the Aerosmith video when he actually made the decision that he definitely wanted to play the guitar. The band following them made JC realize there’s more than one style of music with the guitar and made him want to get one. The band that followed Aerosmith on the video programming was none other than Green Day. JC first heard Green Day’s “Basket Case” on MTV and those two bands became his favorite bands for life. About a year later JC’s mother finally got him the guitar he’s been asking for. She thought it was a phase, but he never let up. JC finally got his guitar and started playing it. Of course he wasn’t good right away, but that didn‘t stop him. JC didn’t take any lessons, but down the line he started to create his own style. Surprisingly his style was a grunge-metal sound. Best example of style is the band Korn. Now JC at this time had no idea of there being a band named Korn and for that matter didn’t know what he was playing was a style. Rock was still vague with JC though he was set to play it. Eventually he found out there were others who did that style of music and in this influenced JC into doing more music. In 1997 JC put together a tape containing his three complete songs he made in 1996 when he was 13, with the several grunge-metal songs he made in ‘97 ate age 14. JC still not great, but not bad for someone who never had a lesson and taught himself with no books or teachers nor much inspiration in the style. But also in ‘97 JC began picking up more music on cassette (yes he was still doing cassette even when more Cds were starting to appear out of nowhere. He didn‘t start getting CD‘s til the following year.) He finally picked up Green Day’s “Dookie” Album which has been out for sometime, but when he listened to the whole album including some of the music videos he saw on TV this influenced him to do a Pop-Punk style. He suddenly just had burst of creativity and made several songs and was able to fill up several tapes with his new style the following year. One of the Punk songs he created was called “A New Style” though only the title and the first line of lyrics of the song refers to him doing a new style. JC also within that year heard a song from Rage Against The Machine and this was the band that made JC the various artist that he is today with the help of Faith No More. JC began realizing there is a lot of music out there and he began tracking down a lot of it and listening to them all. JC went back to listening to the music he’s put aside for years, then he went back even further listening to music before his time. JC now performs and creates music in as many genres as possible. Rock, Hip-Hop, Rap, Metal, Industrial, Experimental, Pop, and a little Easy Listening style. If he was experienced at blues & classical he’d do those too. JC Nickles is a multi-talented multi-artist on many levels and is set to prove it to anyone he can in years to come.
