I am here for Friends

About Me

What can I say.... I'm 27 years old and although my home, family and friends are in London, I am currently working in Las Vegas in International P.R, event management and media production. With me, I am what you see.... no false facades or pretences. I don't like to waste my time with people who aren't genuine or loyal.... you have to sort the wheat from the chaff!I have been lucky enough to grow up seeing alot of the world and therefore I have an appreciation for other countries, cultures, religons and definately have the travel bug instilled in me.I'm old enough now to know what I like and what I don't, but you never stop learning and being receptive to new ideas is something that I embrace. I love travelling and seeing how different countries approach life, be it their cultural, religious or social differences. Some of my favourite memories are approaching the phi phi islands in Thailand by speedboat, surrounded by dolphins and feeling like I was drifting into a postcard, sipping peach belini's at Harry's Bar in Venice before getting lost in the maze of back streets in the middle of the night with only the sound of an occassional church bell or the gentle gliding of a passing gondola, feeling like I was in 'Lost In Translation' and everything was buzzing around me whilst I was frozen in time in Hong Kong, seeing baby turtles hatching in the moonlight in Fiji before they made a brave attempt at going out to sea, catching a fish nearing as tall as me (I know that's not hard!) when deep sea fishing in Hawaii then cooking it, sprinkling my mum's ashes over Blue Mountain in Australia, so named due to the blue hue from the millions of euycaliptus trees below, tapdancing in Harlem (thanks for making me do it Andrew!) in a small jazz bar filled with some incredible figures in the tapdancing and jazz world back in their day, oh and getting rescued by mountain control on a skiing trip!I love walking, be it along a coastline, on a rocky terrtain, the bussling streets of New York or London, or just bundled up in lots of layers on a cold day wandering aimlessly... I love people watching. It's fascinating to read peoples body language and see the way they interact when they don't think they're being watched... I love sushi, seared ahi tuna, in fact all fish, mexican, bbqing fresh fish on the beach after you've caught them is a very satisfying feeling... I love cooking, especially with other people.... a great night is cooking for your friends over a bottle of wine, talking as if there's no tomorrow... I miss my best friend's from London :( .... listening to music, I think I'd go crazy if I didn't have music in my life, anything from classical to hip hop depending on my mood, laughing genuinly so hard that your cheecks hurt, dancing which always makes me forget any problems, singing in my car at the top of my voice when noone car hear, letting go of all my inhibitions and trying something new, the excited and nervous anticipation of meeting someone new, hugging - but a real hug, not a pat on the back or an airkiss, lying next to someone and looking right into their eyes without any uncomfortable silences, having someone tickle/trace on my back, reading for hours and getting so wrapped up in my book that I can't put it down until I know what happens, sitting outside at night with a glass of wine and watching the stars, or sitting outside at night listening to the waves crashing (location permitting), with fresh fish tacos and a mojito/margarita...Things I would like to do within the next year are go to Napa Valley, visit Lori's family in Indianapolis for Thanksgiving - I've never been to a small mid west town and am so excited at the propspect!, go to an American football/baseball game, would love to go back to Thailand and maybe down into Malaysia/Singapore, go to Maui, go to Lake Tahoe, presuede my best friends to come and visit me in Vegas, do an evening class - not sure what yet but want to master something, spend Christmas with my grandmother in England then wake up early, act like little children on Christmas morning opening presents, then visit all my family, reach some goals within my job, meet some cool, genuine people I can call my friends as opposed to accquaintances in Vegas, meet someone I can share these experiences with....
