star69 is a new three piece band based out of the Philadelphia area
featuring Stephen McKnight on lead vocals/guitar, Leon Karpovich on
bass/vocals, and Kevin Soffera on drums/vocals. Three part harmonies,
heavy slammin' grooves and a diverse selection of material separate this band from others.
Lead vocalist/guitarist Stephen had great success abroad living in Tokyo, Japan for seven years. After producing 15 albums there, and two national record deals on Warner Music and EMI, Stephen returned to the USA. Bassist Leon had done a lengthy stint with Emily's Toybox, a well known PA based band with 7 albums under their belt. Drummer Kevin had done national tours with Seether and Breaking Benjamin, and was looking to form
something fresh and different. After the first rehearsal they were convinced they had something unique, exciting, and certainly unrivaled. The idea of a classic power trio sounded great, as some of the most innovative bands such as Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix, The Police, Greenday, Blink 182, Rush, King's X, Primus and Cream were all three piece bands. But to pull off a trio successfully, each member must be exceptionally strong. There are no weak links here.
