About Me

artist biography: Jethro Sheeran (a.k.a ALONESTAR)Jethro lives in London but grew up in Bristol, England and has traveled widely. Already a successful international model, he launched his musical career in 2001 with ‘Lockdown’, who twice toured the UK in 2002 and 2003. In 2004, he began to collaborate with other established artists and changed his sound before launching his solo career in 2005. aLonestar’s debut album, ‘Dark Dayz’ deals with depression, drugs, religion, politics and the environment. His innovative fusion of the hard beats of hip hop with live strings and brass, native american flutes, arabic vocals and a children’s choir has earned the anticipation of leading acts and other industry professionals. The album was produced in partnership with numerous world class musicians and engineers from all over the world. aLonestar is a great showman. His club and festival performances from London to Port of Spain (Trinidad) have earned enthusiastic crowd responses and radio and television play. aLonestar’s management are in the process or organising his first solo UK tour with early dates confirmed in London, Cardiff and Bristol. ‘Skyla Rain’, aLonestar’s new music video was produced by one of the leading UK production companies and will released alongside Dark Dayz in 2008. “We made a mess of this world here With pain and destruction War torn countries Debt, corruption It’s an eruption The darkest hour With these cowards in power We’re losing more than towers”

Influences:ALONESTAR VIDEO "SKYLA RAIN"1448155 English Rapper Makes Music In TrinidadNigel TelesfordSunday, April 20th 2008here's a particular method to the madness that occurs within the music industry here in Trinidad and it usually begins with a friend or close family member. In this case, England-based MC, Jethro "Alonestar" Sheeran and relocated ace photographer, Alex Smailes are best of friends, so when Smailes moved out to Trinidad, Sheeran wasn't long in paying him a visit.Sheeran's first album, Dark Dayz contains twelve (12) tracks of what he describes as "alternative hip hop" and features collaborations with Rosie Robbins, as well as local acts: Ataklan, Tricia Lee Kelshall, Chromatics, Lanyap, Precious and Coreysan. Although Dark Dayz has already been mixed and mastered and is technically complete, Alonestar's debut offering has not yet been released to the world."It's ready to go," he affirmed, "but because I was still in negotiations with a record label that had offered me a deal, I didn't want to release it at that time. Then, my management turned the deal down because we were advised by some A&Rs from Sony that I should go on tour with a known act first, establish myself a bit better, get 10,000 fans on my side and then come back to thelabel and get a better deal."Given the current state of the music industry worldwide, Sheeran feels he made the right decision and will end up in a better position."I really like how it's all happened so far," he enthused. "The labels know what I'm doing and they're all still interested; maybe even more than before, because I didn't just say no and disappear on them and I'm doing something on my own that they would have had to do for me anyway. In the interval before the tour started, I came back here to visit my daughter and work with some of the local acts again."Sheeran is scheduled to go on an extensive tour of England next month, as the supporting act for British rapper and actor, Ashley "Asher D" Walters. While in Trinidad recently, he worked with musicians such as Coreysan Dion Camacho, Andrew from Skid Nevely and KShav Singh and recorded collaborations with: 3 Canal, Make It Happen, Meet Sauce, Spotrushaz, Wayne from Lanyap and Tricia Lee Kelshall yet again."Everyone I've worked with here has been great and what I love about Trinidad is that everyone knows each other and will recommend the very best person for the job." he said. "All of these artistes and musicians have added different elements and sounds to the mix and it's really inspired me to make my next album a lot brighter than my first album. I also linked up with Kees, Levi Myaz and Isasha and I'm supposed to do something with each of them, but now I have to go back to London and start rehearsing for the tour and the movie.""Right now, I'm switching gears to focus on the tour, which will take me right around England and really get my music out there, in advance of releasing my debut album. Growing up in Bristol with Tricky, Massive Attack, Portishead, all that kinda stuff has influenced my style, so I want to have a similar career to them in terms of longevity; not just a four-year kinda pop thing."For more information on Alonestar, log on to www.myspace.com/alonestarmusic or email Jude Sheeran at Synapse Entertainment: [email protected].
