Karen P & Lil’Minx are lovers of fine music. They are also successful radio producers and pretty accomplished DJ’s. Along with all round good egg, father of two and ninjatune recording artist Treva Whateva, they will assemble splendidly talented Musicians, DJ’s and Singers on the 1st Sunday of every month @ Contact Lounge. They will perform exclusive sets that will often be recorded and/or filmed for the archive. Sometimes these sets will be broadcast on radio, if not their very own monthly show on Samurai FM, (launching soon), various others around the globe. They will regularly showcase some very special guests - catching national & international artists as they pass through the region, BUT, their appearances will not necessarily always be publicized in advance so look out for info each month to avoid despair.

LIL'MINX, KAREN P + host TREVA WHATEVA kicked off a residency on 5th November - bringing together the worlds finest with local and national talent for a highly exclusive, intimate, soulful Sunday session. ZED BIAS, PETE SIMPSON + SPECIAL GUEST GILLES PETERSON entertained a select few with top performances via a great sound provision from BLACKA ACOUSTICS. The next show is looking crazy too with a very special session from UK vocal star in the ascendant, ANDREA TRIANA.
Andreya Triana is a 25 year old soul singer coming straight out of Leeds. After touring with Manchester fave’s RSL she is now working on her own material – pieces of which she will debut tonight - with some hot releases set for early next year. Also look out for collaborations with KidKanevil & Aaron Jerome in 2007. Her work with Flying Lotus is turning heads all over so come and sample this glorious talent in an intimate live setting…while you still can! Jamie Finlay is a composer/producer from Manchester. November 2005 saw the release of his debut 12" on forward thinking Jazz imprint “WahWah 45’sâ€. The AA side, featuring the tracks 'Little Trumpet' and 'Temperature' garnered rave-reviews, quickly sold out at the distributors & received heavyweight support from the likes of Mr. Scruff, Gilles Peterson & Rob Luis. Immediately established as 'a name to watch', Jamie’s style has been compared to influential artists including Plantlife, Prince and the legendary Mizell Brothers. Jamie is currently finishing his debut album, 'Pocket Science', due for release in 2007 & taking influences ranging from Jazz & Funk through to Hip Hop, Spoken Word, Disco, Boogie and Broken Beat with the emphasis firmly rooted in song writing. Simon ‘Capstone’ Little…this Producer, DJ, ivory-tickler and proudly bearded man is currently working on his debut album whilst also playing keys & Hammond and DJing around the globe. He still gooses the keys in the studio and on tour for Bonobo, Fink and The Quantic Soul Orchestra AND co-produces for Hardkandy (Catskills Records)…so we are very pleased he has any time or energy to play for us!
