Now how can I not start off my music section with something from the
GREATEST
rock n' roll band that ever was.......
The Beatles
..
This is an EXTREMELY RARE British Pathe-News newsreel of The Beatles
LIVE and in COLOUR!
at the ABC Ardwick Cinema, Manchester, Lancashire, England on the 20th of November 1963
*This film has an excellent live version of "She Loves You" and "Twist And Shout" and you see the Beatles before they came to America back when they really enjoyed playing live the Beatles early songs just had something to them, a sound that made millions of people happy, if not just for about 2 and a half mins if you don..t end up smiling by the end of this film, then maybe you just don..t get it?*
If you have never experienced
BEATLEMANIA
and if loud music, screaming girls, mass hysteria and pandemonium get on your nerves
I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU DON..T PRESS THE PLAY BUTTON!
Here..s the lyrics to one of my favorite Beatles songs
IN GERMAN!
"Sie Liebt Dich" or "She Loves You" was recorded especially for the German radio market in the Paris Parlaphone studios in early 1963 the text and translation to German is simply amazing and it..s really The Beatles singing it!
And here..s more of The Beatles....
..
A very nice lip synch performance from the 1965 BBC TV special "Music of Lennon and McCartney"
of the song
"Day Tripper"
There..s a really kool introduction of the "gogo" girls and sharp camera work ~ GREAT JOB!
I also enjoy the following kinds of music 1920..s jazz, 1930..s & 40..s swing 1950..s Rockabilly & R & B, early rock & roll, vintage country 1960..s surf/beach & instrumental,(stuff like Johnny & The Hurricanes, Dick Dale & The Deltones, The Shadows, The Ventures, Link Wray & The Raymen Etc.)
and now a duo that was rarely seen or at least even heard of here in the states and who are my personal favorite Non-English singing stars of the 1960..s
The Les Paul and Mary Ford of Denmark from Copenhagen the delightfully talented duo of........
Grethe and Jørgen Ingmann
..
together here performing
Live
on the evening of March 23rd 1963
from the BBC Television Centre in Londonthe beautiful
“Dansevise"
It was with this song that Denmark won the coveted
1963 Eurovision Song Contest
thus making the Danish husband and wife team a overnight sensation throughout Scandinavia and Europe during the early 1960..s (There is a renewed and very enthusiastic modern following in Denmark now for the couple who were married in 1956 and recorded together and scored various hits throughout the 1960..s they divorced in 1975 Grethe died in 1990 Jørgen turned 80 last year and since the 1980..s has been retired from the music scene he was in my opinion one of the GREATEST guitarists who has ever lived)
....and does anyone remember that charming, romantic and very pretty melancholy girl from France?
Françoise Hardy
she was one of the major recording artists of the French yé-yé pop music movement of the 1960..s.....
..
"Tous les garçons et les filles" (Find Me Boy) from 1962
and
..
"Mon Amie la Rose" (The Rose) from 1965
Françoise..s music recording career has spanned over 40 years (and she just recorded and released a new album in 2006!) Her music is some of the most beautful ever recorded in any language....and speaking of languages, she..s recorded in over FIVE different ones!
French, English, German, Italian and Spanish
she also was seen in the movies....
Françoise and Antonio Sabato in John Frankenheimer..s European racing classic
"Grand Prix" from 1966
....but it..s her music that..s made her famous, it was very unique for it..s time and has held out on it..s own and remained as wonderful as the day it was recorded, there..s been a renewed interest in France recently for her beautiful music and her original 45..s, EP..s and LP..s now are very rare and coveted collectors items
The Princess Of Rock N' Roll....
I..m a BIG Lesley Gore fan!
..
A FANTASTIC and very rare LIVE peformance from
Lesley Gore
On the T.A.M.I. Show (Teenage Awards Music International Show) recorded live at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in Oct 1964 and the show aired in Jan 1965 *a very fine sound recording of this very rare video and FYI at the time of this concert Lesley was only 19 years old!*
All this great music and excitement is making me thirsty.......so it..s time for a

an EXTREMELY RARE (pre-recorded Live Promo Movie version of
"2,000 Light Years From Home"
prehaps from Redifusion TV or BBC Colour Home TV in 1967
*Damm this movie is ~Fuc*ed Up~ very TRIPPY* look at Keith Richards face in the first few seconds of the movie...damm but it looks like he was on something that day and BTW Keith said recently in an interview that, "drugs are..nt as good as they used to be" well, you can really say that again Keith and this movie proves it!
1960..s pop, acid rock and garage (stuff like The Nazz, The Amboy Dukes, The Smoke, The Byrds etc. etc.)
and then there came this 3 piece rock band from England that changed the sound of music forever....... it featured a man, no not just a man, but a God who played guitar
Jimi Hendrix
This video is FUCKING BRILLANT The Jimi Hendrix Experience plays Berkley University in 1967
I remember I was only 6 or 7 years old listening to this group, thanks to my older Brother Dale, it was great sounding music and good clean fun and that..s how I became a Monkees fan
..
One of the Koolest CLIPS and one of my favorite songs from the TV show
"The Girl That I Knew Somewhere" (together with the beautiful Julie Newmar *remember Cat Woman, from the original "Batman" TV series)
but, I bet you didn..t know the Monkees made a feature length movie did you?
..
"The Porpoise Song" (written by Carole King) from the end of the 1968 Monkees movie
HEAD
The movie (co-written by Jack Nicholson) was a box office flop (IT GROSSED LESS THAN $20,000 IN SALES!) it..s an almost forgotten jem and a iconic 1960..s cult music movie, an LSD trip put on film and features some of the best music The Monkees ever recorded together *YES THEY REALLY DID PLAY ALL THE MUSIC ON THE MOVIE SOUNDTRACK!* sadly they all broke up shortly after the movie was released....
I think this movie has a message and I think everyone who..s ever thought of being a musician should have a look at it all.......the point is made at the end of it all, you end up living in a FISH TANK, think about it
*But Please Don..t Try This At Home*
As urban legend would have it according to some youth guidance groups in Southern California the end sequence of the film promoted an increase in teenaged suicides in the LA area in 1968/69 The Monkees thought that was silly, but you know how parents are......
Jim Morrison and The Doors
Here..s Jim in this VERY KOOL photo shot with him driving a 1968 Dodge Charger (check out the mirror reflection creepy huh?)
I love the friends I..ve gathered together on this thin raft........
..
"Texas Radio & The Big Beat/Love Me Two Times"
from a live TV show (is this Beat Club, Germany? does anyone know?) off of a recent Doors DVD *This has to be the GREATEST Live versions of these two songs together ever performed* This performance became part of the (now rare) 1983 remastered live Doors album "Alive She Cried"
I CAN..T SEE YOUR FACE IN MY MIND (The Doors "Live at the Matrix" San Francisco 1967 *Rare recording of a song from their first album from the koolest of all 1960..s Doors Bootlegs*)
Can..t escape the blue........

"What may sound like fantasy today may be tomorrow's reality
This is a story from the day after tomorrow: There are no more national states or countries There is only mankind and its colonies in outer space Mankind has settled on faraway stars He has settled on the ocean floor With velocities still unimaginable today, spaceships are rushing through our Milky Way One of these spaceships is the ORION, a minuscule part of a gigantic security system protecting the Earth from threats from outer space
Let's join the ORION and her crew patrolling outer space till the edge of infinity"
