Born in Barcelona on June, 18th 1985, Sirocko felt, as so many Dj’s-to-be do, an early attraction to music and mixing. He was as young as 12 when he faced his first 2-channel mixer and a pair of turntables.
Around 1999-2000, Sirocko started to listen to house music -due to Ibiza promotions- and so he investigates and discovers artists such as Daft Punk, developing his love for funk and french house sounds. Soon after he gets into tech house, a style to which he’ll remain devoted to until the end of 2006.
When he was only 18 years old, he saw a dream come true when he managed to open a club with his best friend, Sergio Vidal. The place was called K-16 Club and Sirocko starred every Friaday and Saturday night. Unfortunately, it didn’t come out good, and after this he went into the OnlyHouseMusic community, where he was invited to take part in the 1st OHM official party held out at D&D Sabadell (Barcelona). Thanks to the help of DJ Juanra and OnlyHouseMusic, at his early age he’s already visited Catwalk (Barcelona), SevenClub (Barcelona), Namala (Villareal), BUMB (Rotterdam, Holanda) or Playa Honda Festival (Tenerife).
The live sets Sirocko broadcasted during 2004 leaded to the idea of an on-line radio and rose the OHM Radio project managed by Sirocko, Johnnie S., César Sánchez and the team at OnlyHouseMusic, exclusively devoted to electronic music.
During OHM Radio’s first year, Sirocko featured the “Live On Sundays†program, where he mixed house live for five hours in a row. During 2006, the evolution from house to techno saw a change of name too: “Main Conceptâ€. Nowadays he keeps a weekly 60’ session completely focused on techno music.
Sirocko’s switching from house to techno comes from his search of darker, more aggressive sounds. His main influences in this new phase come from those DJs he’s admired the most for years, such as: Dave Clarke, Jeff Mills, Ben Sims, Derrick May or Paco Osuna. Once he found techno, he decided to remain faithful to this style and to discover all its branches and substyles. Presently, his DJ sets are mostly evolutive, with the prevailing sound structures of techno melting with funky sounds imported from house.
