About Me

Chris Holbrook and Craig Conard are Gas Station Robber. They formed Gas Station Robber after their previous musical endeavor came to a halt at the end of 2006. Since then they have moved in a new direction not only musically, but also in the way they present their music to the public. Instead of pressing/distributing records, they will be posting new album songs on their website as they complete them. ALL SONGS WILL BE FREE TO DOWNLOAD and they anticipate posting one new song per month. This will go on indefinitely, with live recordings and other material to follow the album. They are devoted to the idea of free music and want to make it as easy as possible for people to listen to what they do. So don't forget to check out GasStationRobber.com every month for more free material.Craig and Chris met through mutual friends and became part of a band called The Approach in 2003. After three years of shows and two independent releases, the group disbanded in early 2006. Craig and Chris decided to continue experimenting with different sounds and songwriting ideas. After a bit of work they found themselves venturing further and further into the world of electro indie pop. With all recording and engineering done by Craig Conard, they both write and produce their tracks. Currently they are working on a full-length release.Chris Holbrook is originally from San Antonio, Texas. He comes from a musical/entertainment background. At the age of twenty-two he moved to Los Angeles. Shortly there after, he began writing songs and seeking musicians to play with. After several years of playing with different people Gas Station Robber was formed in 2006.Craig Conard is originally from Kansas City. He moved to Los Angeles to pursue audio engineering and to form a band. Shortly after moving there he began working at The Sound Factory as an assistant engineer. After a few years of watching records get made he left and started making records on his own. In 2006 Gas Station Robber was formed. Currently, Craig works with Michael Brook (Composer, Producer, Scored An Inconvenient Truth and Into the Wild among other works) and in the past has worked quite a bit with Boyd Tinsley (of Dave Matthews Band) on assorted projects.

Killed in the Chase We're now afraid of everything along the wayAnd I was in with everything but lost the wayAll our friends are dying outKilled in the chase to where love is foundWe are replaced ...
