Born to ROCK!! ROCK till I die!!

About Me

Hi everyone!! I'm Simon and I live in Yorkshire, England. I am married to Tara and we have two beautiful daughters, Christina & Paige. My world would be empty without the three of them (and Rock/Metal music!) Well, I always said I'd never bother with MSN, but eventually I did and I said to Christina that MySpace was not for me - but here I am (I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure!!) In the end I thought it mind be kinda cool to let people see what my interests are and what I'm all about. Heh heh, how things change huh?! I work for NetworkRail as a Signalman (or 'signaller' in this politically correct world of ours!) I have worked on the railways for over 20 years and generally I enjoy what I do, but as in most jobs the 'management' let it down sometimes. But the money is pretty good and I am basically my own boss so I can't complain really (although the shifts do get you down at times). Other than that I love my Heavy Metal and most of its many genres (except punk rock, emo and other similar crap - no apologises it's shit) and I also like decent Electronica. RUSH, OPETH, VOIVOD, FORBIDDEN and BOARDS OF CANADA being the best bands on the planet. Anyway, enough of my waffling, check out the other things about me below. Oh and many thanks for stopping by!! Later...
I created my own profile using nUCLEArcENTURy.COM and you should too!

My Interests

Metal/Rock music - the heavier the better. Photography (mainly aviation and railways, plus motorsport - when I get the chance). Cycling (road riding ala Pro-Cycling - Tour De France). Playing Bass guitar. Going to concerts/gigs and the cinema. Member of 'TNMS' (The National Midday Sun) the greatest RUSH fansite in the world! Eating out (Indian and Chinese). Reading (horror, thriller, non-fiction and WWII military aviation history). Cars and Motorpsort, especially MotoGP, F1, Champ Cars, NASCAR and American muscle cars, especially the '68-'70 Dodge Charger R/T.

I'd like to meet:

Steve McQueen, the greatest actor EVER!! But unfortunately no longer with us. In another dimension Steve... Rush, Johnny Depp, the coolest, most talented actor of this generation. Valentino Rossi, the greatest motorcycle racer EVER!! (Been a fan since his 125cc days), Marco Melandri, Kevin Schwantz, Johnny Herbert, Ihsahn, vocalist/guitarist with EMPEROR - a god! I'd like to meet Mikael Ã…kerfeldt, again (singer/guitarist with OPETH - the greatest extreme metal band on earth!) I'd love to chat with him over a beer. He comes across as a great guy and I can imagine the conversation about heavy metal being interesting and the slagging off of Hip Hop and Rap etc entertaining! I'd also like to meet Craig Locicero, from Forbidden, again. We met in London, way back in 1989 when they toured the UK with Sacred Reich. Although it was a fairly brief meeting he made a lasting impression on me and it would be great to see him again. Such a nice, easy going guy. And a MEAN guitar player too!! Hopefully we'll cross paths again in 2008 Craig...
