CHRYSEIS

C.H.R.Y.S.E.I.S (Consortium of Human Resistance from Yuggoth for the Search and Exploration of Irregular Systems) was originally formed in 1996.
After leaving their original bands, Uruk-Xul Chaac Uayeb (ex CYANID) -drums- and Omnio "The Voice" (ex MAELSTROM) -guitar and bass- asked Sébastien MANNEQUIN and Magali KARPA to join the new band on vocals and keyboards.
- In 1996 the first band's demo -Realms of Kalayan- a piece of Dark Epic Atmospheric was recorded.
- In 1998 the second demo -Battles Sunset- (Epic War Metal) was recorded without Sébastien -who is back in 2007 with EITHWAZ (guitars, bass & backing vocals by Omnio, drums & keyboards by Uruk-Xul)
- In 2001 The third demo -Astronomicon- (Epic Thrash-Death with french lyrics) which is the link between the old CHRYSEIS and the new was written and recorded by the two band formers -without Magali- with the help of Frank JULIEN (ex ABJECT, EITHWAZ) on bass (Magali and Frank formed RAVEN CROWN with the others ex CYANID). Despite of their poor production these 3 demo recordings received good critics especially -Astronomicon- (Hard Rock Magazine, Metallian and other zines).
- In 2003 the two band formers Uruk-Xul & Omnio -back to a duo formation- founded the Chryseum Studio and decided the time had come for the band to get out of the underground. A new orientation is given to the C.H.R.Y.S.E.I.S project, becoming more than only a musical project. An original epic & dystopic cyber fiction with elements taken from the mythology of Cthulhu of H.P Lovecraft is developped in the same time to give to the songs written a new dimension with awesome visuals and sounds. This fiction is born under the name of "The Chronicles of Gaia". The first chapter of these chronicles, the album "PRESENCE OF THE PAST" is recorded with the touch of additionnal -friends- musicians. It's oriented Technical Progressive Thrash with futuristic concept influenced by bands like CORONER, NOCTURNUS, PESTILENCE, SADUS, VOIVOD...
The band is working on the second album "PLANET DEAD" (with a really professional sound). Johann Bodin (aka YO in our Top Friends) who received the 2007 Art & Fact reward for best french SF graphist will do the artwork for "The Chronicles of Gaïa".
Jey (JEYPARK, SPIRITUAL SYNTHESIS) will play the lead guitars and Emilio Dattolo (ILLOGICIST) will play the bass. The technical habilities, creativity and kind personnality of these experienced musicians lead us to ask them to join the band...

Après avoir quitté leurs formations respectives, Uruk-Xul Chaac Uayeb (ex CYANID) -batterie- et Omnio "The Voice" (ex MAELSTROM) -guitare et basse- demandent à Sébastien MANNEQUIN et Magali KARPA de les rejoindre respectivement aux vocaux et synthétiseur.
- En 1996 la première démo du groupe -Realms of Kalayan- est enregistrée dans un genre Dark Epique et Atmosphérique.
- En 1998 la seconde démo -Battles Sunset- (Epic War Metal) est enregistrée sans Sébastien -qui est de retour en 2007 avec EITHWAZ (guitares, basse & backing vocaux par Omnio, batterie et synthétiseur par Uruk-Xul).
- En 2001 la troisième démo -Astronomicon- (Epic Thrash-Death avec un chant en francais) qui constitue le lien entre l'ancien CHRYSEIS et le nouveau est écrite et enregistrée par les deux membres fondateurs -sans Magali- et avec l'aide de Frank JULIEN (ex ABJECT, EITHWAZ) à la basse (Magali et lui formèrent RAVEN CROWN avec les autres membres de CYANID). En dépit de leur piètre qualité d'enregistrement ces 3 démos reçurent de bonnes critiques, en particulier -Astronomicon- (Hard Rock Magazine, Metallian et autres fanzines).
- En 2003 les deux membres fondateurs Uruk-Xul et Omnio -de retour à une formation en duo- fondent le Chryseum studio et décident que le temps est venu pour le groupe de sortir de l'underground. Une nouvelle orientation est donnée au projet CHRYSEIS , qui devient plus qu'un simple projet musical. Une cyber-fiction originale épique et dystopique ponctuée d'éléments empruntés à la mythologie ..hulhu de H.P Lovecraft est développée afin de donner aux titres composés une dimension supplémentaire avec un son et un visuel particuliers. Cette fiction est née sous le nom "Les Chroniques de Gaïa". Le premier chapitre de ces chroniques, l'album "PRESENCE OF THE PAST" est enregistré avec l'aide d'amis musiciens. Le style musical est orienté Techno-Thrash Progressif avec un concept futuriste influencé par des groupes tels que CORONER, NOCTURNUS, PESTILENCE, SADUS, VOIVOD...
Le groupe travaille actuellement sur le prochain album "PLANET DEAD" (qui bénéficiera d'une production professionnelle). Nous avons confié à l'illustrateur Johann Bodin (alias YO dans notre Top Friends), prix Art & Fact 2007 du meilleur illustrateur français de l'imaginaire, la lourde tâche de mettre en images "Les Chroniques de Gaïa".
Jey (JEYPARK, SPIRITUAL SYNTHESIS) sera aux lead guitars et Emilio Dattolo (ILLOGICIST) assurera les parties de basse. Les capacités techniques, la creativité et la personnalité de ces musiciens expérimentés nous ont poussé à leur proposer de rejoindre le groupe...
