Red Envelope is the sound of a growing woman clearly staking her claim in the world and, in the process, redefining expectations of who she is.Yee-Ling is half Chinese and half Filipina and has been song writing since the tender age of 10 where she would sit alone in her room and write beautiful poems, these poems soon became songs! Yee-Ling has travelled to London, Hong Kong and Philippines and Japan to perform shows in famous malls. She has performed at many events and with various artists including Jin, The Game, Juggy D, Fundamentals and Nathan.Red Envelope is Yee-Ling's first album, she states "this time I was able to get a bit more personal with my writing and more free with my vocals, my songs are much more meaningful and delicate. I also wanted beats that were harder and to be able to collaborate with other artists. Basically this album was a chance for me to grow and develop as a writer and a singer. There are more ballads. The experience was very energizing yet therapeutic. I felt free, because I could go into the studio and talk about whatever I wanted, but in many ways it was actually harder to be on my own creatively. I'm so critical of myself that it's scary to have to depend on your own instincts."
