Early in his life the family realized that music, not bugs, would be Jeffs' calling.The piano was the instrument that began Jeff's musical journey. At the age of seven he began formal study and developed a great ear for music. Though he found the piano somewhat interesting, he was always drawn too more exciting options as a kid. At the age of nine, he discovered his older brothers neglected set of drums in the garage and thus began a much louder chapter in his musical life.The family was living in the San Francisco bay area when Jeff began to fuel his passion for drumming. He listened to all types of music and saw as many drummers play live as he could. The great bands of the seventies gave him a knowledge of Rock and Roll and enhanced his love for great music. The bay area music scene was alive with talent, a great place for Jeff to develop his skills and hone in on his own playing style.When the family relocated to Washington D.C. he began his formal drum study with Jim McCall, a great percussionist and teacher who exposed Jeff to great drummers such as Tony Williams, Elvin Jones, Billy Cobham. He also began performing with his friends in a variety of Rock bands and continued to grow as a musician.Over the years he has had the pleasure of working with many great artists, including; Robin Poore of the Great Invisibles, Coyote Moon, Scot Homan, Simone Bokanegra, Rob Mullins, Mood Express, Simons New Toy, Steve Thomas, Vana, Lyric, Ric Cabot Podmore and Arrival. Currently living in Los Angeles and working as a freelance musician and producer.Jeff also owns and operates Solas Management, managing recording artists and producers.
