we want to extend out gratitude to everyone who has supported visionary. over the past year and half!
Visionary. was created by hand, from the ground up, to see what we could do with a limited budget and a lot of passion. True DIY, letting the power of imagination and creativity drive us to get up, stand tall, and do something new. We are the new generation, and we demand to be heard. And seen. We began making clothes that we wanted to wear, for the love of it, hoping that maybe other people would like to wear them too.. in the process, we ended up creating a line of art-driven clothing dedicated to pushing the bounds of design and delivering the freshest blend of technology and nature, design and materials, innovation and determination. We created a lifestyle, striving to have a positive influence in our "community". It was a project that started from the heart, centered around our love for design and our desire to build something we could call our own.
As we traveled this unknown road, Visionary. became a sort of experiment, if you will.. a chance to see how people would react, either positively or negatively, to what we were doing, how we were doing it, and the ideals we were doing it with. A chance to see if people would be inspired by our designs. Much to our joy, the line recieved a warm reception by everyone who came in contact with it, and grew from something we did for ourselves and our friends to the line it is now, with thousands of customers served, international press accolades, a solid network of distributors, and a community of visionaries who embrace it.
(A LITTLE HISTORY: Jeff & Jen started Visionary. in Jen's little apartment in Hollywood, developing the first batch of film in Jen's closet, and printing the first few shirts on her kitchen table. Jeff then moved the operation to his little studio apartment in Hollywood, using nothing more than small wooden screens and a folding table to print the next few batches of shirts. After meeting up with Darren, they purchased a small hand press and began working out of the back of the Wasted Youth (R.I.P.) shop on Melrose. As things grew, the workload became too much, so eventually all of the shirts were sent out to a professional print shop who continued hand-printing all of the garments.)
Now, a little over 1 1/2 years into it, our passions and love of design have begun to take us in different directions, leading us away from Visionary. into more diverse projects and new ideas of the type of line and lifestyle we'd like to create.. Visionary. was just the begining, and as we retire it into the history books, we do so with a firm grasp on the future. Just like when Visionary. was conceptualized, we're on to something new - hot new styles, hot new designs, hot new printing techniques. We're growing.. it's going to be crazy!
