Band Members:
JOEL: Originally a guitarist from the East Texas area, he has worked in many band scenarios. Due to the lack of musical opportunity and motivation in that area, he moved to Dallas in 2001 and began playing music with friends, which sparked his interest in singing and fronting vocals. In 2003, he began writing and recording with Dan in his home studio, which would soon start to develop the band Social Jab.
DAN: Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He began playing guitar at the age of 16, and since then has toured all over the US with various bands, including Seventh Sign. In addition, to a successful touring career, his band has had domestic and International releases, as well as overseas press. In 1998, Dan moved to Dallas and began working with his good friend Dave Shafer, Ricky Wolkling, Ray Luzier, as well as many others in various projects. Later, he would begin recording with Joel, and they would bring in Dave to start a newband.
DAVE: Bringing not only humor and wit to the band, James David Shafer bring and amazing stage presence and incredible sound. His performance is one that echoes the styles of Karma Cheema, and an attitude of Mike Patton. Dave has been a member of well over a dozen bands across the midwest, and he was a part of Social Jab even before SouthFM ended, collaborating with Dan and Joel on a new sound. When SouthFM ended, it gave more room for this band to grow. Dave is also the current Bass Player for " The Feds " as well.
CHAD: Originally from Andrews, Texas, he was one of the founding band members of SouthFM. They recorded two CD..'s, a handful of radio singles, signed with major label MCA, and toured extensively with national bands including Blue October. He contributed his work from beginning in 1999 until their end in 2006. Not wanting to give up on his passion for music, he persuaded the four members of Social Jab to embrace him as a fifth member of the band. After their first show with Chad as an added guitarist, it was evident that he was a missing piece of the band, musically and creatively.
THOMAS: Picking up the drum sticks at an early age, he played with bands such as Skin Deep, Milkweed, Jack Acid, Crossing Ellum, from the early 90’s until around 2004. He and his band also won a contest and had the opportunity to tour extensively and even meet many famous acts. In 2004 he actially auditioned for SouthFM which is where he then met Dave and Chad. He recieved a call about a year later to audition for Social Jab, and has been writing and performing with them since.
