About Me

As an artist I am inspired by the grandeur presence of this planet, it's splendor and impressiveness of appearance, style and genius. She carries her beauty without taunting nor teasing, in an elegant fashion, for she is a true lady. Her sensual landscape and seascape begs not for attention or affection, for she embraces all that comes her way, without regret or judgement.
I am an accomplished master, and have been introduced to a high level of genius, recognition and success. However if it were not for failure or an accident in the midst of exploration, invited not the genius stand.
I travel and I have a studio in Beverly Hills, California Originally from Minneapolis, MN. The world is my canvas, for I paint oil on canvas. I have designed fashion for major department stores, wrote, directed and produced a play, acted, sang, danced, just finished a book and produced over 50 music vidoes last year regarding my art.
In the midwest I am considered arrogant and shallow, however with the same personality, in Los Angeles I am considered deep and spirited.

I have just finished writing a book: The name of the book is called "Forget About It, Safehaven" (taken from a New York City, eastern sea board expression that is often heard and said). It is a an autobiography/novel, based on a true story, my life being raised in an Italian crime family. The story takes place in Chicago, Ill and Minneapolis, MN where I was born.
The story starts with the importance of our family ties (our blood lineage), the closeness we all had for one another, my father (his Italian restaurants where we all worked), his brothers, my cousins and all the things we experienced together. We enjoyed each others company, and Italian food was an intricate part of our being together. There was a very poignant moment I remember when my cousin and I, we were fourteen at the time, took in a movie one Saturday afternoon at a theatre in downtown Minneapolis across the street from one of my fathers restaurants. The movie was "The Godfather" and we had to sneak in to see it, for it was rated R. For us that was half the fun, sneaking in. After the movie, we climbed on the roof of the restaurant and as wee looked across the street at the movie theaters lights my cousin asked me "doesn't that movie seem like our family, uncle so and so does this, and uncle so and so does that, do you think we are in the mafia?" I thought for a moment and replied "No, becuse no one has died". We laughed it off as we recited different lines in the movie. "Leave the gun, grab the cannoli" was our all time favorite line.
By 1985 five family members died from ties stemming from largest drug raid in American history, 500 million. The story's true parts in the book are taken from accounts written about in the media, and now public knowledge. There are other accounts that were completely fabricated, as I took artist license to changes the names and events, to protect the guilty, allegedly!
The World of Books
Is the Most Remarkable Creation of Man
Nothing Else That He Builds Ever Lasts
Monuments Fall
Nations Perish
Civilizations Grow Old and Die Out
And After an Era of Darkness
New Races Build Others
But in the World of Books are Volumes
That Have Seen This Happen Again and Again
And Yet Live On
Still Young
Still As Fresh As the Day They Were Written
Still Telling Men's Hearts
Of the Hearts of Men Centuries Dead
— Clarence Day
I was a major stockholder and CEO of a five star restaurant / theatre. The restaurant (Gianni Fragali Italia Cucina) was designed as a 1926 New York Speakeasy, set during the jazz age and prohibition period. The play, "Gianni Sent Me" unfolded while one had dinner, a seven coarse Italian dinner in which one elected entree was 'Gnocchi Con Polo Al Sugo Bianco'. The play featured jazz singers, dancers, movie stars, gangsters, bootleggers, shady politicians, flapper girls and fashion models who did runway modeling for a 1926 fashion show. Tickets were $50.00 per plate and we were completely sold out.
I directed, acted, sang and danced in addition to running the restaurant as General Manager and CEO. 'Corn Bread Harris' was our pianist (a jazz and blues man for the past 60 years. He is actually "Jimmy Jam's" father, producer of Janet Jackson amoung others) for the entire three years. I created the concept, assisted in writing the play (it underwent six re-writes), designed the interior, handled all the general contracting and met with the city council and all twelve city inspectors. It was the first stage of three in being the largest dinner theatre complex in the nation with over 800 seats.
I love traveling on an eclectic avenue, when creating. I did so by incorporating jazz and some opera together. Some would distance themselves from the thought, but to my senses, it is like combining antiques with contemporary pieces in interior design, a favorite of mine.
"It's time to say goodbye" performed by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman inspired me to include the song in the play. It was during a very poignant moment that the lead character (An Italian Gangster who owns the speakeasy) discovered that a 13 boy he knew (Sid the news kid) . . . was actually his son. In this draining and emotional scene, the gangster was speaking to his dead wife . . . the mother of his new found child. She gave birth to his son while he was in prison, she did not tell him: And than she had died before he had gotton out.
The gangster had been in denial of the loss of his wife until this special moment arrived, whereas it was now 'time to say goodbye'. But he was left with his new found son. As "a gangster" he questioned his own ethics in comparison "to those he would teach to a child". And this is where the audience laughed and cried at the same time.
It is the quality in moving the audience to laugh and cry at the same time that really brought my senses together to fully understand what a creative masterpiece is. I was so inspired by the movie 'Life Is Beautiful' whereas at the end you laugh and cry.
We were in the midst of planning future expansion to Las Vegas and New York City when the highly improbable became probable and unfortunately, reality.
Within ten days of 9/11, 2001 all the corporate business (Pillsbury, Honeywell, AT&T and the like had employee Christmas parties booked/approx $350,000.00) cancelled and I lost $800,000.00. Nobody wanted a party after 911.
Fun huh! True-fully, the experience was priceless and a once in a lifetime surreal dream.

Thy shall not answer for yesterday,
for thoughts found the same,
failure befriend thou,
think not thy so lame.
For it is the highest goals,
achieved in part as yet,
expect not failure to be
thy friend as thou bet.
March on lonely soul,
failure as thou be,
invited not as a friend
to thy eventful party.
Look not in thy eyes,
for the sky to fall,
the drama of failure,
keenly seen by all.
Success not be
guilted for thy shall laugh,
for the genius is proud
of thy own craft.
If it is thou failure
that thee embraces so,
failure tis not thy friend,

that thy eyes
touched so soft
and thy ears

blind as not.
tis the smell so rich
as moisture weeps
thy senses hitch
colored so deep
as the petals spread
thy virgn thigh
though hath bled
wings flown high
neither a place

wet with morning dew
thy lips touch thy petal
taste thou scent
and became love true.

My Interests

The King Of Brooklyn

The song of the day,
is how thou feels,
sing along some time,
and triple click thou ruby heels.

What was generally known,
and that thou thought a lie,
killed the truth,
and than left it to die.

Catch this beat,
it loves pain,
the truth is back,
just ask the stain.

The path one walked
before it split,
should have known
when a hit was a hit.

I want to kiss you
and punch you in the face
was not a very sweet
or nice thing to say.

So . . . who was
The King Of Brooklyn?
And who was the
Queen of sin?

The Voice Of Angels

For it is the voice of angels
that sing from cloud to cloud,
for it is the love of life
that is heard so loud.

Listen to words of

Seek not the wrath of man,

For it is the path
of each being to respect,
for it is not thou place
to judge, condemn or detect.

Let thy knock thou
ass off thee horse,
for the music so played,
is the true coarse.

Laugh not oh soul of hate,
curse thee own being today.
Lead, follow
or get out of thy way.

I'd like to meet:

As the rain hath nourish
the earth and soil,
so shall thou tears,
wash thee soul and toil.

For it is the choice
of each living being,
to swim or drown,
or to hide, or be seen.

Options exist as many
as stars dot the night,
for it is not a privilege,
it is thy right.

Known to all,
forward this day so try,
dare thy strength of soul,
and thee shall die.

For the fight to survive,
is what thou shall meet,
hath cast no mercy,
in thou fatal defeat.

giannifragaliOne of my favorite past times is and was reading auto-biographys and biographys of successfull and famous people of leadership, journey, fortune, fame, the arts, business. I am inspired by their attitude and how there attitude changes their destination. I believe that one creates their own destiny and are successfull because they believe they can be. And the number one reason why they are where they are at is because of attitude.I have read so many books and I would love to meet any of those people and it would not end there.(I do understand that there are those, dispite attitude, that have been handed or have inherited misfortune of some kind. I will say I admire people who have had near grave consequences that have left them with an assortment of injuries or situations that would strain the heart and soul of any man or woman. There are certainly cases that I have witnessed of people moving forward under situation(s) that I don't think or believe that my attitude could survive. I admire these people the most and formost).
