MIKE LA FUNK has been active within the House-Business since 12 years by now, being an integral part of the German House scene to date! With his 28 years, he virtually played in every relevant Club in Germany. Up to now, he performed the Club Nights with international Dj Celebrities such as; David Morales, Tyree Cooper or Bob Sinclar and is also present at important House Events like the " Global White Night”, “In Bed with Space”, or the „ Ministry of Sound “! Popular clubs like the „ 190East Frankfurt, Betty Ford Klinik Hamburg, 40Seconds Berlin, Nachtcafé Leipzig, Zapata Stuttgart, Puro Dresden or the Palais München “ speak for themselves! But MIKE LA FUNK is also active abroad and thus Dj gigs in Austria, Spain and Switzerland are part of his discography to this date! In 2003, he became 2nd for the most innovative Dj-set during the annual mega event “ Sputnik Turntable Days “ , right after Mousse T, who finished first. He also performs at big events as well as in small clubs and House Lounges, and no matter how big the party is, his sets are always of the best quality.
He got his inspiration for his sound from artists like; Dj Spen, Joey Negro, MAW, or the Mastermind at Soulfuric Records "Brian Tappert"! Qualitative sounds are very important to him, away from the mainstream sound and the 1000´s of worn out hits ! Therefore, he is also called the "guarantor" in terms of "Soulful and Vocal House" Music! He sees himself as a professionally operating Dj, with an extremely great feeling for "HOUSE MUSIC with EMOTIONS". Due to his experience, he manages to connect different facets of the Housesounds to a Soundclash, who -while being up to date- dynamically creates a good mood on every dance floor. MIKE LA FUNK is an official Tipper for the German Club Charts (DCC), these charts work sim0ilar to the Billboard charts in the USA and are an important building block of our music scene, as well as for the German Dj-Playlist (GDP)! He therefore is a permanent member of selected Club-Djs from the whole of Germany, which determine what might be a club hit tomorrow!
At the moment, MIKE LA FUNK eagerly works in his record studio "Soulful Riot Prod" in Berlin together with his studio partner "Stuart Bump" on their new house project „ DA FUNK PREACHERS “, along with famous artists, like the singer "Colin Corverz" from Memphis / Tennessee, better known as "Colin Rich" of Peppermint Jam Records, or a saxophonist from Stockholm! While Electro-Retro-Techno-Trends somewhere else fall into sheer emptiness, MIKE LA FUNK remains true to himself and doesn´t vehemently follow any trends, but is always up front regarding musical developments and likes to present his kind of House Music to the people. With a lot of talent, he combines his trademark – sound with soulful and impulsive grooves, that is never too complex or overloaded with loops, but accessible and pleasantly relaxing with full energy and rhythm. The plenty of his references prove his talent as a Dj and his feeling for bringing the dancefloor to a boil with innovative sets. In future, MIKE LA FUNK will make some of his gigs, with a "bassist", as well as a "singer", before in winter 2007/2008, the big „ Record Release Club Tour “ through Europe will start.
