LEOMARTERADRUMMER/DJ/PRODUCERLeo Martera started his career in the 80’s playing as a drummer in a cult band of Florence(Italy), ’Neon’. He took part of all their tours: Russia, Belgium, The Netherlands and Spain, recording the Lp ‘’Crimes of Passsion’’ and the Russian live performance ‘’Trash for Gorby’.
In the following years he found a new band ‘’Il Presidente’’. Leo was the drummer of the band but also wrote and singed some of their songs. They created the single song ‘’E.R.B.A.’’ (RTI Music).
Afterwards Leo cooperated with the Italian artist Garbo recording the Lp ‘’Garbo e il Preidente’’ (Polygram). He took part of the music concert May 1st in Rome and the one for the world AIDS congress in Florence.
In 1997 Leo created for Match Music the music show Bum Bum Mantra (Music, Spirituality and Technology).
In 1998 he with Irene Grandi took part of Tv Shows as ‘’Telethon’’ and ‘’Carramba, che sorpresa’’..
In he same year he recorded the first album of the Italian artist Zae, ‘’ Dammi un passaggio’’ (Polygram) and played in the Italian tour for Match Music.
Then in year 2k ‘’ Bum bum Mantra’’ became a musical project related, at this time, to disco music and clubs: percussion sections, Dj sets, remixes and Visuals.
From 2001 and 2002 Leo plays at the club ‘’Top Ten’’ of Singapore making up more then a hundred and seventy live concerts.
In 2003 he stared cooperating as drummer with the ‘’Planet Funk’’, playing the remix of ‘’Prima di partire per un lungo viaggio’’ written by Vasco Rossi, singed by Irene Grandi, and ‘’Sottacqua’’ by Alan Sorrenti. After this he played the drums in their new album ‘’The illogical consequence’’ taking also part of the related tour and joined them in the live performances at: Festivalbar, Cd Live, Top of the Pops and Live 8.
Leo Martera’s live set is quite wide, it’s scheduled in a fusion between percussion sections and electronic Dj sets, minimal tones together with his own prodictions. So today Leo Martera still cooperates with''Planet Funk’’ and at the same time continues his deejay sets with live percussion sections in clubs all around Italy and Leo is keep on working also on his productionLEOMARTERA
ELECTRO LIVE PERFORMANCE
Dopo un trascorso nella cult-band dei Neon ed esperienze rilevanti come vee-jay e producer , Leonardo Martera è l'attuale batterista dei Planet Funk.
La collaborazione con i Planet Funk inizia nel 2003 suonando il remix "Prima di partire per un lungo viaggio", scritto da Vasco Rossi e cantato da Irene Grandi e "Sottacqua" di Alan Sorrenti; si consolida con "The Illogical Consequence" (seconda produzione dei P.F.) e relativa tournèe europea, Festivalbar, Cd Live, Top of the Pops, Live 8.
Parallelamente alla collaborazione con i Planet Funk Leonardo Martera si esibisce in sessions dal vivo che lo vedono affermarsi energicamente nel ruolo di Dj Drummer rinnovando anche il suo entusiasmo di produttore discografico. Ricordiamo (OmegaHom “Darkhouse†Press Lab Records/ Level One).
Il suo personal Drums Dj- set è di ampio respiro, le sue performances, di forte impatto sul pubblico, potenziano e definiscono ogni sorta di base musicale grazie all’intervento di timbri e grooves elettronici con sonorità electro - minimali che si uniscono a composizioni di sua produzione
