About Me

A Face In the Rock movie Trailer I appear in:
Click here for information and to post your comment about the movie trailer.
I'm just a decent guy, with a lot of ambition, determination and love. I have a lot of worldly experience, like to talk intellectual or be completely silly and laugh. Enjoy the outdoors, love meeting new people. In relationships I am very loyal, kind and honest. I am a good hearted person.I believe you keep the friends that you want, by always being honest with them. Good friends will always stick around. I don't have a big ego, I am drawn towards people who speak from their hearts. When appropriate, I bend the rules because I see a better way. I follow the law, and I am not arrogant, just a god given ability to see the whole picture and a better way of doing something.I like work out (weight lift and running machines) every other day. When there is no snow I outdoors. I run for my spirit more than my body. I feel more connected after a good workout. It centers me. I eat good and take care of myself.I love my culture. Aside from attending ceremonies, I enjoy attending Pow Wows, talking with old friends. I drum, dance and participate in veterans ceremonies. I am not ethnocentric...I am open to learning other cultures. I have visited too many places in the world and have learned a lot of our core teachings are very similar. All natural! I lean towards organic food (when possible). I try my best to use natural cleaners, insect repellant around my home to reduce unnecessary chemicals entering me or anyone in my home. I believe one of the reason why Anishinabe people have health issues like diabities, heart problems etc.. all stems from going astray on their traditional diets. Click here to download a PDF file of a traditional Anishinabe food pyramidI'm a leader, I ran for our tribes board of Directors. I am not a politician and have no intention of running again...unless I have too. I am just a good person who likes to see things done fair and honest. My biggest areas of interest for my tribe is advocating for diverse economic development, make all tribal members feel connected to our tribe (we have more than 37,000 scattered across the USA) , improve tribal structure so one person does not have the power to use the tribe for the own personal agendas (political or financial), cultural revitalization, fair hiring practices and team member employee rights. I work in our tribes communications department.Born in lower Michigan, I use to live in Minneapolis for ten years. In 2002, I moved back to the Sault because my Dad was not in good health. I have lived here in the Sault for more than 5 years. I have changed my life for the better. You can go three hours in any direction and see beautiful landscapes. Which brings me to let you know I love taking pictures (see my photo gallery). I like capturing moments. Whether it's people, landscapes, animals. It is very relaxing for me to take pictures.I love adventure and trying new things. My secret career would be a movie director. I have acted in commercials for my tribe and a movie trailer (re. A Face In the Rock).I’m all about peace, love, respect and making people smile. There is nothing greater gifting a positive perspective to someone in need. For my ladies eyes only:I am the kind of guy who will open the door for you, and I won’t stop after a few dates. I will warm up the car for you in the morning, brush the snow off you car. Don’t get me wrong, I am not a push over, just someone who respects my woman. I will put Christmas lights out during Christmas for our children. I love the smell of spruce in out house during Christmas. I prefer picking out pumpkin out of a patch rather than buying one. A handmade gift is more meaningful to me that the most expensive gift. I love the smell of burning wood. I have a lot of creative energy when the moon is full so be ready for me!

My Interests

Spending time with my daughter, attending Pow Wows, Fishing, learning new things. Becoming a free person by working towards financial independence.

I'd like to meet:

Looking for positive people who are open and honest who want to walk this life with me and help each other along the way.

Music:

I am currently digging most of the songs on new albums by these artists: Foo Fighters, Kid Rock, After Bridge and selected songs on A Band Called Pain. I love music especially those who mix Southern Blues, with Rock and top off with a bit of Funk. I like the passion and energy artists put out. Thus the reason why I like all music that does that for me (thus the reason why I dig people with fire). Simple! I truly listen and enjoy all sorts of music from Rock/Country to Opera/Classical. My mood dictates what my favorite music is at any given time. I was digging opera last night, today heavy metal rock. Enjoy life and all that it has to offer. Listening to good music can lift the spirit. Music has always been my church (so to speak).

Movies:

The Illusionist, Shawshank Redemption, Good Shephard.

Television:

I don't watch TV that often. Maybe 4 -6 hours a week in the summer. I sometimes don't watch the whole show. Here are some of my favorites. Business Minded shows: Morning Express with Robin Meade, Big Idea w/Donny Deutsch and The Millionaire Inside. Adventure shows: Survivorman - good things to know in case you ever get lost out in the woods, Globe Trekker - all the places I want to go and see in this short life. Hunt for Big Fish with Larry Dahlberg (I just love the places this guy goes to find big fish. In one episode he went to Niagara and cause some big tarpon in a creek. He got dysentery from the food. But still had a great time. You gotta love that attitude!).

Books:

I read a lot of articles on the Internet. I read newspapers. I loose interest if I try to read a whole book. Not many books capture my interest all the way through. I can figure out the plot. I speed read as well.

Heroes:

My father, Clyde Alexander, Tecumseh, Sitting Bull, Muhammad Ali, Martin Luther King, Gandhi, The Electrifying Mojo, people whom I have met in my life who mentored me. I am forever greatful and will repay by sharing the knowledge you gave me.
