My younger self so I could give him a much-needed ass-whooping
Most of what I listen to are bands that you may have vaguely heard of: The Flaming Lips, Radiohead, They Might Be Giants, Barenaked Ladies, Devo, Ben Folds, The Eels, Grandaddy. Some are more obscure, like Pizzicato Five or Negativland. Others are more mainstream, like Beastie Boys or Beck.
I like punk rock (NOFX, The Vandals, Descendents, Dead Milkmen, Dropkick Murphys, The Ramones, The Clash) and hip-hop (Foreign Legion, Ice Cube, Eminem, KRS-One, Run-DMC, MC Chris), but am woefully ignorant about both.
I'm a sucker for 80's music (The Cure, Violent Femmes, Depeche Mode, The Smiths, Pet Shop Boys) for the nostalgia factor. I like Tom Jones and Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline. I listen to the choral music of Arvo Part and Eric Whitacre. I like Christmas Music.
I didn't mention Pink Floyd or Prince or Keane or Marvin Gaye or Beethoven, but I guess there's not room for everybody.

The Illuminatus Trilogy
Fuck Yes: A Guide to the Happy Acceptance of Everything
Lord Valentine's Castle
