About Me

originally classically trained, dave started experimenting with electronic music while at school (using a tr-707 drum machine, a juno 106 keyboard and a yamaha 4-track cassette recorder). the studio has since grown out of all recognition, but the approach is still the same – deep analogue tones combined with jacking but emotive grooves.as a dj, dave was co-resident and co-promotor of the ‘spectral’ clubnight in scotland, playing across a range of labels and producers, including basic channel, ur, bluespirit, ferox, schatrax, playhouse, delsin and many others. smoothly going from hypnotic stripped tracky grooves into ferocious building monsters, and splintering out from charging percussive techno into melodic workouts, dave’s djing has taken him guesting throughout scotland, london and france.the original perfectionist in the studio, dave is (as one half of ‘otomi’) responsible for 2 acclaimed 12” releases on emoticon recordings (“zusammen” and “pakt”), which drew critical acclaim from artists as diverse as carl craig, arne weinberg, recloose, chateau flight, fabrice lig and ian o’brien.his debut solo EP “stronghold” was released as the first record on the relaunch of russ gabriel's legendary ferox label over the summer of 2008, and he is currently working on several projects, including an ongoing scandanavian remix project with a very talented singer, and further solo tracks...
