Wendell Henry was born and raised on the Caribbean Island of Trinidad & Tobago. His musical journey began at the age of 5 years old when he got his first set of drums. Living in the Caribbean exposed him to ethnic rhythms from across the Islands such as Zuku, Reggae, Dub, Dance Hall, Afro Cuban, Calypso, Soca roots and Jazz n' Steel Orchestra.. He started playing in Church at the age of 12. From there his musicality grew tremendously. Wendell played with top local bands in Trinidad as a drummer and keyboardist. Playing for these various artists gave him unique opportunities locally and abroad..Wendell has been blessed to play drums for the following artists:- LA Connection with Abe Labourel, Alex Acuna, Lenny Castro, Michael Paulo, Nachito Herrera, Kip Blackshire, Sara Renner, Yohannes Tona band, Keith McKutchen project, Bruce Henry, Dallas Johnson, Shirley Caesar, Marvin Sapp, Nate Sallie, Minnesota Symphony Orchestra, Stanley Jordan and Target Co. (Life escapes CD project). He is currently the house drummer at Club 3 degrees in down town Minneapolis.(TRINIDADDY Productionz)Wendell has also expanded his musical territory as a writer and producer. He has work with Gravity Records and Leumas Music in Nashville, TN. Wendell has done studio production, remixes and drum programming on the following CDs: - PM Ol Skool- Nu Skool, Good News Blues Band, LaVonne Jackson, Ryan Daniel and Ira & the Christo Palace.
