DREMORA (Searching For Musicians)

Female-Fronted Symphonic Metal from America

About Me

DREMORA is a female-fronted symphonic metal band from America that mashes raw metal guitars with classical symphonic orchestration. Then polish it with powerful, yet seductive, female soprano vocals, and snarling male gutturals.
Dremora was formed in Los Angeles, CA by songwriter Thomas Kampert who previously held roles as both drummer and guitarist in the Pittsburgh, PA heavy metal band Contradiction. In April 2006 he began composing the first two songs as a demo to attract other members. He met Jessica Lehto, a singer-songwriter in Sweden, on a popular online forum, and she offered to help by singing in one of the songs. Later that summer when the songs were completed, she recorded vocals for the demo version of 'Alone' (the 2 song demo was posted on the newly created band website www.dremora.net as a free download). The demo attracted the attention of Brazilian soprano Juliana Novo on the same forum, and in November 2006 she offered her voice as lead singer for the next album. From October 2006 through June 2007 Thomas wrote and recorded the remaining two songs for the upcoming 4 -track EP entitled Martyrs. Juliana and Andrew (a friend of Thomas that offered to do the lead guitar tracks for the song 'Martyrs and Madmen') both submit their work via the Internet, completing the tracks. Thomas completed the artwork and submitted the final design and audio master for replication a month later, and on August 3rd, 2007, the release party for the album was held in Los Angeles. The next day Martyrs officially went on sale to the public via the band's website; shortly thereafter it was available at other major online retailers like CDBaby.com and Amazon.com. December 7th, 2007, Juliana was dismissed from the project. During the winter of 2007 auditions began for a new lead singer, and writing new material for the next album commenced. In 2008 the band continues auditions to round out the rest of the lineup, and has begun rehearsals with potential new members yet to be announced.
Dremora is dedicated to providing a fresh original perspective to the modern genre of female-fronted symphonic / gothic metal. We offer the powerful yet dreamy sound of European-style female-fronted symphonic metal, mixed with a raw heavy metal feel reminiscent of earlier styles of metal. This unique combination is something new, yet still familiar. Our music is available worldwide to entice those music fans around the globe in need of something different, and our goal is to show the wonder, beauty, and sheer power of operatic symphonic metal.
Dremora's debut EP entitled 'Martyrs' containing 4 tracks was released August 4th, 2007. It is available from several major retailers as a Digipak CD, as well as a digital MP3 download. Dremora is also part of the compilation "A World of Sirens” to be released May 2008. The band is currently working on its first full-length release with an exciting new lineup.
