Mom thought for the past year a half that I was a blue heeler, but found our recently that I'm not :O I'm a catahoula mix. I've lived in Austin, Tx since 1/1/06. I started out in Houston. I was a stray dog found wondering hungry and dehydrated. A girl found me and gave me to a woman who helps find rescued animals homes. I hung out there for a while with her dogs and cats. In Jan 06, the woman took me to Austin, Tx to live with her daughter. That's my new mommy. My mommy tells me every day how much she loves me. Daddy moved in with us in July 06. It didn't take long before I became a Daddy's Girl. In May of 07, we adopted Turk. Now we're one big happy family: Me, mommy, daddy, Turk, Peaty and Tinkerbell. Peaty and Tinkerbell are my cat siblings. That's my history.

TURK
I'm an Australian Cattle Dog mix. I was born in May of 06. Mommy tells me I'm a special dog because I can't hear. A little more is known about my past than Riley's because I've been at the Austin Humane Society off and on since I was a little pup. They told mommy and daddy that I was returned a few times because I liked to mouth a lot. I couldn't help it, I'm deaf. I use my mouth to help explore the world. I got hit by a car once and broke my leg. Can you believe my owners just left me at the vet? So I went back to the Humane Society for about 4-5 months. Mommy was volunteering there and always noticed of me because she has an ACD mix at home (or thought she did!). She saw a lot of dogs adopted, but noticed no one was really interested in me. I guess it's because I can't hear and would need special care :( She always gave me treats at the shelter, even if I was asleep (she knew I'd wake up and find them). After about a month, mom and dad brought Riley to meet me for a dog introduction at the shelter. After we met, the volunteers asked mom and dad if they wanted to think about it. Little did they know that mom had made up her mind a month before our introduction!!! I went to my forever home that night. I'm a handful! I love stealing rawhides from my big sis and playing with her. We wrestle A LOT. Now I spend my day days either sleeping, playing with toys, mommy and daddy, or Riley, and chewing on rawhides. I'm a complete Momma's Boy. Mom gives me hugs and kisses every day. Even though I can't hear her say it, I know she loves me very much.

My Interests

RILEY: I like sleeping under the bed, on the bed, in my crate or wherever my mommy and daddy are hanging out. I like going for long walks and sniffing everything I can. I LOVE playing fetch with a rawhide, baseball or my froggy and playing tug of war with my rope. I'm not a cuddler and mommy and daddy know that's how to get me off the bed, instead of telling me to get off, they just try to hug or cuddle up to me and I'm gone.

TURK: I like running around and rough housing!! Give me a bone and I'm a happy dog. My favorite thing in the world is mom, and when she's home, I HAVE to be with her. She can't even go to the bathroom by herself! I have my own bedroom that I can run around in and mom doesn't have to be afraid of me getting into anything. I'm not allowed in it by myself out of my crate yet because I'll just scratch the door. But mom's going to be studying in there so we'll be spending lots of QT together. I can't wait!

Other Rescue dogs and animal lovers. I'm a firm believer in spay and neutering, so I don't usually accept friends who have kids or want kids. Or if you are from a petstore. PUPPYMILLS ARE BAD!!!!
This is the video Hulk Hogan made about dog fighting. There IS a little graphic part that my stomach is STILL sick from because I HATE HATE HATE seeing an animal hurt (and encouraging animals to hurt each other?! I want to kill that %#%#@&$%^$&* ass that's screaming "fight" or "go" or whatever he was yelling. I can't watch it again)
