I was five years old when I picked up my first needle and thread, it has been an obsession ever sense! I was the girl that made all of her prom dresses, the oddball in school who wore the homemade clothes. I am inspired by 1980’s Glam and Punk Street style. I want to push societies standard of beauty melding street style with couture to come up with something totally different and thought provoking. Fashion is not just clothes and accessories. It is a form of wearable ART. The amount of time that goes into some of my garments would astound you but it is part of the process. You cannot rush the creative process. You cannot rush Couture. If you don’t like it well that is fine too! I am a shopoholic. I frequently use shopping as a form of therapy! Nothing makes me feel sexier than a great pair of heels. I love pretty things and things that are interesting. I love to mix and match my personal style and keep it new and exciting. I don’t buy designer labels just because! I like interesting pieces that make you ask “Where did you get that?” often times the answer is “I made it!” I love BLACK eyeliner and false eyelashes. I am not into the super trendy. I don’t follow the trends, I MAKE THEM! So this is me a nutshell if you wanna know anything else just ask! Known in the San Diego fashion scene as Drea Couture, Her close family and friends know her as Andria Hull; CEO of the up and coming fashion line “Sugar Couture” has been in love with fashion since childhood. Drea a Fashion designer and mother of two, finds beauty in everyday life. Her fashions are fun, funky and at times wildly beautiful. A nor-cal native Drea draws her inspiration from the streets of San Francisco. “Fashion is not just clothing, it’s a way of life.” She believes that fashion is not about function but about the theatrics of life and living. Dressing for her moods is very common for this young designer, a chameleon in her everyday life, and her career. Keeping it fresh and new is a must for this up and coming designer and must in this industry. Her pieces often reflect her signature style wild, colorful, in your face fashion that still maintains its reputation of quality and hand details. Drea blends gutter punk style, and an eclectic mix of hip hop, and chic luxury .Somehow this blend works and this blend is “Sugar Couture.” Sugar Couture is growning daily. We are now in several boutiques in the southern california area. Fabrik Boutigue in North Park SD and Sexy Rags in LA. You can still find us on our online boutique. Sugar Couture launched their official line in the winter of 2004 with the official website www.sugarcouture.com launched in the spring of 2005. The website boasts a collection of one of a kind pieces hand made by the designer herself as well as some ready to wear pieces. All of the pieces available for sale on the website are one of a kind or limited edition pieces. Drea limits the amount of items produced to maintain the quality and value of each piece. Each piece is treated as a work of art and often times the graphics for the tees are reproductions of a drawing or painting that was done by Drea as well. Drea believes that fashion is art, and art is fashion.
