Neil Smith
Style: Electro/tech house.
Before deciding to take to the decks, Neil spent a few years building up his knowledge of the industry by working for Scottish super club "The Rhumba" were he helped promote one
of the most musically sound nights the Uk had seen.
With the unfortunate fall of "The Rhumba" in 2002 Neil hooked up with top Dundee producer and promoter "Farfletched" in order to bring what he had learned to the streets of Dundee. The two friends came up with the concept of an underground, residents based, progressive and techno night......."When In Rome" was born. After only a year Neil found himself playing to sellout crowds, not only at his own night but at the various one offs and residencies he'd picked up along the way, the biggest of which being the "Waterfront" club where he warmed up for the worlds finest with his own brand of hard edged progessive house and techno....Slam, Mauro Picotto, Fergie, Judge Jules to name but a few.
With his ever increasing list of industry contacts, in 2004 Neil was booked to play 2 major cities in Poland. Although a little phased at playing abroad for the first time, Neil's own blend of house and techno was received to great applause and helped him to achieve a name for himself on foreign soil.
A year or so later (2005/06), whilst continuing his ever growing night "When In Rome", Neil was asked to play Scotlands biggest dance festival "Coloursfest" and the "Colours 10th Birthday Celebrations" headlined by Tiesto.
With a tour of Australia in the pipline and his new residency at the mighty "Seek and Hide", the future looks good for this talented Scottish Dj.
