About Me

Here's the part I'm suppossed to go on and on about how different and unique I am, and use cliche metaphors to describe my soul and deep purpose in life. The reality is, I am different...JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!

Oh yeah, and another thing: My REAL NAME is Teresa JOLIE. I have had a few messages hinting that I was using "Jolie" in reference to Angelina, and no...there is no relation and to be quite frank, I don't care very much for her as an actress either. Jolie has been my name since the day I was born way back in 1982! In fact, most my close friends call me T.J. for short.

My Interests

I love cooking. I'm a member of allrecipes.com, which is one of the best recipe websites I've found to date. I also like dancing, even though it's been quite some time since I've been.

Crochetting is something I've picked up over the years and use whenever I feel like being an old lady and crochetting blankets. I like doing anything creative in which I have to use my hands, for instance drawing. Speaking of working with hands, I enjoy planting and watching my garden grow...even though it's very small since it's on the patio of my third floor apartment! So far I'm growing sage, oregano, basil, parsley, thyme, jalapenos, bell peppers, ivy, marigolds, sweet potato vines, and various other types of flowers and plants. Check out my very own little secret garden below:

I'd like to meet:

Really? No one in particular. Most people you meet whom you look up to always end up being extremely disappointing in the end. I'd rather my heroes remain heroes, admired at a distance...

Music:

I like a little bit of everything. Although, my favorite genres of music include goth, industrial, punk, 80's new wave, and rock. My favorite bands include: Tungsten Coil,Front 242, Bauhaus, Love and Rockets, Massive Attack, Stone Temple Pilots, The Dandy Warhols, Faith No More, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Descendents, David Bowie, Adam Ant, and Depeche Mode, to name a few. I have also recently gotten into hair metal...

Movies:

I simply love movies that really make you think or feel deeply. Not in the generic, overdone "Butterfly Effect" way, but more like "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" way. Other movies I adore are Run Lola Run, Vanilla Sky, Donnie Darko, The Game, MirrorMask, and Moulin Rouge.

Then again, contradictory of what I said above, I love to watch stupid no-brainer movies that don't make me think at all, like Coming To America and The Jerk.
Okay, Myra caught me....and even worse and more of a guilty pleasure, I like to watch Ever After. It's hilarious! First off, they all live in France, yet they have British accents?? Second, Leonardo DiVinci is Italian and he too has a British accent. And what makes it truly terrible is Drew Barrymore's bad British accent and overall acting. BTW, can anyone say "Codpiece?"

Television:

Don't watch tv (cut the cable long ago)...most of it has become a celebrity chasing cult of reality shows.
Here are some cool music videos though...

Ohgr: Cracker

Type O Negative: I don't wanna be me

Recoil: Faith Healer

Books:

Lately I haven't read too many, but my favorite book is still "And Then There Were None" by Agatha Christie. Forget Dan Brown and the Code, Agatha Christie had to be one sick bitch to plot out a storyline like that in "And Then There Were None." I've read that book three times now!

Heroes:

My dad... Salvador Dali is also pretty cool.
