Musical Styles:
I am not bound by narrow minded concepts of music, I see a universe that stretches beyond my own imagination. I appreciate all forms of music except country, top forty, and bullshit bubble gum pop, I especially appreciate music based in and around Electronics, heavy percussive beats, and middle eastern and world influences. Primary musical passion from childhood to now: Classic Rock, Rockabilly, Punk, Ska, Punk, New Wave, Progressive House, Industrial, Techno, Electro, Drum and Bass, DubStep, Traditional Middle Eastern Music. As I got older I expanded my taste not to forget the past but embrace and build from past experiences. This is one reason my music is so diverse. I have so much passion for music that I don't tie my hands behind my back I let my mind fly and I create music... sometimes it's soft and will bring old ladies to tears - sometimes it's fresh and hip impressing the "coolest" club kids and sometimes it's hard core in your face expressing deep seeded feelings of concern for the world around us and our human race. It doesn't rain everyday so why should my music stay the same.
Sounds Like: Hipnautica is a musical chameleon of sorts, seamlessly transcending, transmigrating, and cross-melding genres together with the intention of bringing people together in an open forum. We strive to create a new tone and are often referred to as "Dark World Electronic" a combination of dark somber tones, merged with various middle eastern, tribal and world influences.
It's our ultimate goal to share, with the world, an eclectic experience beyond music. Hipnautica performances are ultra-sensory experiences. We push boundaries and incorporate visuals, performance artists, theatrics, danceers, musical, lyrical, and spoken arts, often into seamless transitional productions. Constantly we explore new ideas around reoccuring themes... allowing new artists within our midsts and experimenting but always consistent with our intention to produce emotionally riveting material... ultimately to strengthen the core concept that is Hipnautica.
If you like any of the following Chemical Brothers, Thievery Corporation, Massive Attack, Nox Arcana, Dead Can Dance, Schpongle, Ministry, Cold Play, Moby, N.I.N, Front 242, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Ravi Shankar you will most likely find something within Hipnautica to appreciate.
