About Me

I'm a county government employee, photographer and writer. I've won awards for my photography and I've got a novel under consideration with at least one agent.Aside from that, you can't know me over this so there's nothing else to write.

My Interests

Hiking Photography Reading Writing Nature Sci-Fi Fantasy Horror (mostly -sometimes-...okay, rarely)

I'd like to meet:

See "music" below. Though I've had the honor of meeting "The Dream Engine" (and yes, it's all mine! But Elaine Caswell IS luscious, Rob Evan IS the Heir Apparent to Meat Loaf and Adrienne Warren could very well be the next person putting a restraining order against me!)Other than that...I don't want to meet psychos. Cause I'm over that part of my life. SO over!Oh, I'd also like to meet the two ladies who remained with me to help keep me from dying at the side of the road. Unfortunately I have no information on them.

Music:

The Dream Engine, Cher, Olivia Newton-John, Tiffany, Jim Steinman, Pandora's Box, Evanescence, Sarah Brightman, Josh Groban and a whole host of others.

Movies:

"Lady in the Water" was the last really good movie I saw.I thought "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" was good for kitchy entertainment value"Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest" - aside from being a great twist in the title - pissed me off at the ending. And after watching "Serenity" I thought "Joss Whedon is a BASTARD!"But Star Wars remains my favorite theatrical release and "Farscape: Peacekeepers War" is my favorite television movie.

Television:

Right now my 'must see' can be summed up in one line:Fox's Animation Domination.Other than that? There's no other show that I watch with any sort of regularity.

Books:

I don't recall the last really great book I read. The type that makes you stay up hours past your bedtime, that gives you the DTs when you're not reading it?I can tell you that it's not "The Poe Shadow" or "Worldwired" - two books I really wanted to love.

Heroes:

Jim Henson, Stan Lee

Is It Irony Yet?

Last night, I worked a full overtime shift. So, I thought I'd have my car washed.  After all, it was looking a little decrepit after being attacked by dysentary having pigeons in Tahoe/Carson.&n...

Momento Morae

I'm reading Armageddon's Children by Terry Brooks and there's this passage where one of the main characters is driving up into the Rocky Mountains.  I'm smiling as I read thinking - I've been to ...

Tahoe

Tahoe happened.  With more 'hiking'. Okay, it's walking down and then up a former road to the Vikingsholm. But combined with the 'hiking' from the weekend before?  I'm emboldened that I'll ...

Still the Planet

Okay, check below and you'll see that my 'first' friend is "The Dream Engine". Because they are, will be and always have been my favorite band.  (yes, I know about Pandora's Box but this is the ...

Hiking

Hiking happened today.  Which surprised me because I wasn't sure that I was physically up to it with my almost healed injuries.  But my friend and I decided to follow the creek up the trail,...

Superstitions

So.  If it's bad luck for a black cat to cross your path...what does it mean when they come up to you and throw themselves into your arms? Now, naturally, after the events of this year, I'm worr...

If you're reading this, then you can obviously see that I've got some headway going on getting my blog edited to something more akin to what I want it to look like - and more representative of the MyS...

Website coming along

If you use Internet Explorer (and really, why the hell are you doing that?) as your browser, you should be able to see a *really* old index that I created long ago - which I removed after I got a numb...

I've been working on getting my domain to return to the world wide web. But it's been frustrating.  I guess I really should just wait the recommeneded amount of time before I actually get snarky...
