Borrowed Time is hardcore. No gimmicks. No trends. No bullshit. Vocalist Aidan Monahan, guitarist Brendan Willem and bassist Jim Byrne got together in late 2004 with the intention of having some fun and playing a few shows. Combining a healthy dose of classic New York Hardcore influences (Cro-Mags, Sheer Terror, Madball, Merauder, Biohazard) with an appreciation for late '80's crossover (Carnivore, Crumbsuckers), Borrowed Time's sound was a familiar, but welcome, breath of fresh air. After their very first show, it was clear they had something special and decided to pursue the band more seriously.
After going through a series of drummers, they hooked up with Corey Koniz (Ex-Santa Sangre/Freya) and hit the studio to record their demo in January of 2005. Shortly thereafter, they were joined by Jef Leppard on second guitar. The demo was well received, but the band's momentum would once again grind to a halt when Corey was forced to step down because of personal issues. Enter new drummer, Murdock, in the fall of 2005. With the lineup once again intact, the band set out to play around the Northeast, sharing the stage with the likes of Madball, Path of Resistance, Ringworm, 100 Demons and Eye Hate God, to name a few.
After hammering away on new material for a few months, Borrowed Time returned to the studio in February of 2006 to record their debut for Reaper Records. Recorded at More Sound in Syracuse, New York, and produced by guitarist Brendan Willem, "No Escape from This Life" sees Borrowed Time at the top of their game, taking their sound to the next level. This is only the beginning...
