Stand As One does Old Fashioned Moshcore
in the vein of Strife, Another Victim and Death Threat combined
with a lot of outfit influences! Brutal breakdown, fast parts,
sing along, two pieces vocal, dance parts and finger pointing!
The band started in the late august 2k4, at the time,
Pascal was on vocal, joakim on guitar, JF on drum,
but there was no bassist yet. So the band asked to
Guillaume who played in A Wish Of Redemption
to fill the place to let them the time to find a full-
time bassist, what he did himself! In the early
september, Samuel Lessard was playing guitar
for the band until Francis, former vocalist for
Our Death came into a band practice and became
the lead singer, so Pascal took back his guitar
and the line-up was complete!
After a couple of shows and a great response from the crowd,
the band decided to record their first release[DEMO 2k4] in
november 2004. After 3 press sold out, and a lot of shows,
they recorded their second release[A CALL TO ARMS] who
came out in september 2005. The band played with several
hardcore acts like death threat, borrowed time and Assassin to
name a few, and they performed all around the province of Quebec
as well as Bucksport, ME and Rochester, NY.
In spring of 2007, joakim decided to leave the band because of
a lack of time due to his military service and other project :
Punchout! . After the writing process of the new album was
almost done, all members took the important decision to disband
for many personnal reasons. They went out to form THE SLEEP and
REVERSAL. The band did their final show on august 25th the same
place they did their first show back in 2004 at the legendary
CHALET DES LOISIRS DE ROBERTSONVILLE. During their three years
living, stand as one has been an important part of the Quebec
hardcore scene, and they still are an influence for new bands.
Believe it or not, the band has already started a new project
with the remains of Stand as one and a brand new guitarist taken
from Pascal's project Life Concern. With influences of mid90's
hardcore, it's going to be a more mature continuation of stand
as one based upon real hardcore roots instead of "2-step"
bullshit and trend of the moment! "We are at a point that we
just want to play music together and do hardcore as it should be
done.. no fancy, no trend, no attitude...a return to the
sources!"
