About Me

Well... you didn't wake up this morning
Because you didn't go to bed
You were watching the whites of your eyes Turn red
The calendar, on your wall, is ticking the days off
You've been reading some old letters
You smile and think how much you've changed
All the money in the world
Couldn't bring back those days
You pull back the curtains, and the sun burns into your eyes,
You watch a plane flying across a clear blue sky
THIS IS THE DAY -- Your life will surely change
THIS IS THE DAY -- when things fall into place
You could've done anything -- if you'd wanted
And all your friends and family think that you're lucky
But the side of you they'll never see
Is when you're left alone with the memories
That hold your life together like
Glue

I'd like to meet:

The love of my life.

Music:

Over the years I was involved in the making of many albums, as a producer, sponsor, compiler, or whatever. These are my key releases:

Sartan Hashad, "Al Tasimi Lev Lashtuyot" (9 Records, 2000)
Job Description: Record Label Executive, Promoter
The only album by the Israeli punk band. It was out on the record company I opened - 9 Records

Bitrey Zuzey, "Bitrey Zuzey" (Fast Music, 2000)
Job: Album cover photographer
I photographed the picture for the album by accident. I saw an ad for a show in Jerusalem of this Tel Aviv alternative band. The ad was stuck to a traffic sign, and I thought it would make a nice picture. I later gave the photo to band leader Ram Orion (formally of Nosei Hmigbaat fame), and he really liked it and asked if he could use it as the cover of their second LP

Various Artists, "90's Eurodance" (IMP, 2001)
Job: Co-Editor and Inlay Text Writer
In 2001, me and this friend of mine (Almogit Alush) who worked for a Dance record company, thought it's a nice idea to retrorize the 90's... We compiled this Dance album that went to be a local hit, by selling over 10,000 copies! Artists included: in the compilation: Snap!, Technotronic and Culuture Beat...

Various Artists, "90's Eurodance Volume 2" (IMP, 2001)
Job: Co-Compiler
After the success of part 1, we compiled a sequel. Volume two failed to sell as much, even though killer artists like Ace of Base and Dr. Alban were included...

Various Artists, "Glory Box" (Helicon, 2001)
Job: Co-Compiler and Inlay Text Writer
Another album I co-compiled (this time with the lovely Ronit Goffin) and wrote the inlay text for. This is an Alternative compilation that was out in collaboration with local radio station Galgalts. It only managed to sell nicely a couple of years after it's release, when that radio station went on strike duo to royalties dispute, and it's listeners missed the station's music. Artists included: David Bowie, Depeche Mode, Pulp and many others

Various Artists, "Shine On Volume 4" (Helicon, 2002)
Job: Co-Compiler and Inlay Text Writer
This is the 4th part (and last) of a successfu 80's hits series. I compiled it with my great friend (and then faltmate!) Yaniv Curis. Artists included: The Cure, Culture Club, Ub40

Polish Butterfly, "Olympic" (9 Records, 2002)
Job: Record company executive, Promoter, Art director
Second release on 9 Records. This time it was the Electro/New Wave artist Polish Butterfly. The album gained great reviews, but failed to sell well

DJ Set, "Lo Hooki 019" (Lo Hooki, 2002)
Job: DJ
A DJ set that I played in my bedroom! It was out on local Indie label that released a long lasting series of DJ Sets. It was a limited edition and sold out in a month! Nowadays, the full set is available for a FREE download here

Polish Butterfly, "Cut off the Wire Remixes" (9 Records, 2003)
Job: Record company excutive
Final release before 9 Records went bankrupt... Remix E.P for Polish's greatest track. It was loudly played by many European Electro Dj's, and received great reactions from the likes of Tiga, DJ Hell and Richard X. Sadly, the release wasn't as successful as expected, and 9 Records went bust

Danny Ben-Israel, "The Kathmandu Sessions" (Merry, 2003)
Job: Inlay Text Writer
My best friend Haggai opened a Record company as well, Merry Records. His first release was the Re-Issue of old 70 Israeli Psychedelic Record. He asked me to write the booklet text, and I happily agreed. Because the record was also out in the U.S, I received my glory and fame of appearing in the mighty All Music Guide! Check it out HERE

Arayot Yerushalayim, "Roots" (Agitpop, 2007)
Job: Inspiration, Some Sort of Backing Vocals, Modeling
I was the co-organizer of a Reggae line of parties at my Stardust pub. These parties hosted many performers and some of their recording made this compilation. For a glimpse you can here me shout on one of the songs, and my portrait also appears on the back cover. Find out more here

Various, "Kshze Amok - Shirim Sheliat Ohevet" (2003)
Job: Cover Designer, Advisor
In March 2005 my beloved sister in-law Liat Berman sadly died of cancer. A month later my brother Gidi orginized a tribute evening on her memory, and he compiled an album that includes Liat's favourite songs - Israeli stuff, British, American, Indian, some very exiting mixture of things. The compilation was given free to evryone who attended that tribute night. Rest in Peace, Liat. I love you and really misses you.

Various, "The Lost 80's Hits" (Ze Behavan Records, 2005)
Job: Compiler, Editor, Designer, Inlay Text Writer
A compilation of very rare 80's songs, included artists like Car Crash Test, Trans-X and The Passions, that was given free with the local comics magazine MFM. The compilation was such a success, that all copies of the mag was sold out within few weeks!

Also - artists I adore and that influences me to love: Carter USM , Pet Shop Boys , Morrissey , The Dandy Wharhols , Duran Duran , Kylie , Sissor Sisters, Erasure , Paul Weller , Fine Young Cannibals , The Specials , Madness , Sex Pistols , Clash , Buzzcocks , The Killers , OMD, Tears for Fears , Divine , Human League

Movies:

Pretty in Pink, Any James Bond (part from the last one), The Wedding Singer, Trainspotting, About a Boy. Not a big movie fan. havn't seen anything decent in ages

Television:

meaningles american sitcoms and meaningful bbc drams

Books:

"The Buddha of Suburbia" is the best book ever. It's by Hannif Kureishi and it's a must. Also - "About a Boy", which also appears at my movies section. It's by Nick Hornby, and I really feel that he written that about me. Last is "Time To Sleep" by David Badiel. Yes, the Guy who wrote the song Three Lions.

Heroes:

We could be, but just for one day

My Blog

The future is partly clouded

I'm getting older this week. 32 to be precise. Which makes me ask a few things...* How come taking risks is such a big deal?* Why is time moving so fast?* Have I, with time, became a better man?...
