I like anything really weird and I like alot of it when I get it - when I am tired of it: I mean I am like so so so sick and tired of it . . . until of course, I want to do it again. Then I mean business!! I love tasteful guitar playing with an edge; the occult - the real occult not pseudo-goths with an inverted pentacle (oh please!!) or teenage male ceremonial magicians who are the 7th Keeper of the 9 Gates of Hell, the Dragon Magicians (oh, whatever!!) - without whom all of Decatur would curl up and suffer. Hmmm.... on second thought!! I like vampires, both real and fictional - but I hate wanna-be everythings. Maybe, I am a little biased, but I am a psi-empathic vamp, and life-stylers and fashion vamps really get on my nerves.
I LOVE our cats: Abby, Laney, and Batty; collecting pink willow dishes (no shit!!); and anything PVC!! I live my life vicariously through watching movies and I spend alot of time on the www.imdb.com
Girly Comments & Graphics
and pink loves me!!
Locally, I'd like to meet people who use their head for more than just a hat. I totally hate idiots and stoners; I hate creepy people. Unfortunately, the truly unique and intelligent and fun are few and far between: those of you that are in my top friends would be some of the winners!! *smiles*
Nationally? Definitely Steven Tyler . . . WOW!! Just to listen to that man talk about music, life, love, happiness, the blind persuit of the dream and the reality of the unforeseen nightmare. He is my Shakespear. Also the amazing rhythm section of Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford and bassist Tom Hamilton for musical conversation. I don't think Joe Perry is much of a chatter, but would love to look at his amplifier collection, along with his unique guitars like his Dan Electro clear plexi guitar. I love that thing!!
When I was in my '20s and on the road Heart was obviously a major influence for me. I actually would dream about finally meeting them. Needly to say, Ann & Nancy Wilson were always classy and inspiring. I think their investment in Bad Animals Studios in Seattle, WA was a great move for their retirement and personal musical adventures late in life. No label consent or budget required, you know?
I always loved The Runaways look and attitude: Cherie Currie, Joan Jett, Lita Ford - those girls had it going on. R.I.P. Sandy West, you were the drummer that made the Runaways speak - I wish you could have had the career you always wanted and you deserved. I can totally relate to what you had to say in the movie "Edge Play" Just know that you reached more female musicians than you knew.
Old Aerosmith (when Steven Tyler & Joe Perry were still on massive drugs writing massive hard rock music - not cleaned-up and sold out), Guns'N'Roses, KMFDM, White Zombie - Rob Zombie, The Rolling Stones, Korn, Heart thru Bebe Le Strange - then they started to suck really bad, Faster Pussycat/Taime Rules, Sisters of Mercy, Marilyn Manson, Type O Negative, Judas Priest, Mother Love Bone - yeah I love Classic Rock and Industrial/Metal all in the same breath: what's it to ya? Are you that one dimensional? Maybe we shouldn't talk.
The Skeleton Key - definitely a great movie featuring a few of the concepts of Hoodoo; Fight Club - because this movie holds the answers to the questions of the universe, Snatch - because every body loves a Pikey and getting "proper fucked"; Interview with the Vampire, Queen of the Damned - kinda weird with the books, but awesome soundtrack, Underworld - I love it's slow paced intensity and the familiarity of the political games within the community; Lord of the Rings (a Trilogy based on the religion of Hope for a generation that has none); The Andromeda Strain (my first movie to be OCD about at age 6; Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (All Hail the Glorious Hunter S. Thompson) - P.S. Drugs are Good for You, Reality is for people who can't handle drugs. Sissies; All the Exorcists Movies, House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects - Let's get fucked up and do some fucked up shit!!, Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2 - thank you Lisa for that one!!
The X-Files!! I love the X-Files, I am devoted to The X-Files - Yes I am a conspiracy theorist and this show is everything I need to: Trust No One!! I Want to Believe. The Truth is Out There . . . but I am stuck here.
I wrote the controversial book Christian Wicca: the Trinitarian Tradition and it came out in July 2003. It's actually just now catching on. It's a good thing that I read some of the better books in life before my awakening - because I can't read shit now!! "The Stand" by Stephen King was the summer read after my senior year. The whole time I was on the road, I only read the musician trade mags and targets for promoting the band and the record label. Why read anything more? I played in a band with two book freaks for 6 years solid - on the road all the time. They both felt compelled to tell me about every book they read in great detail on long bus rides: So, I haven't really had to read anything of merit, since I've already heard the Cliff Notes. Dave introduced me to Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles - such a good dude that I married him. I have a lot of books on the occult - started collecting them around 1985: Crowley, Regardi, Mathers, Dion Fortune, LaVey, and the Ferrars - I love Ceremonial Magick, Enochian, Goetia, New Orleans Voodoo and Hoodoo. I do own books on Paganism, but I write better ones - LOL!! After you write a book, you tend to loose respect for all writers. It's weird - you should try it!!
Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford of Aerosmith!! All two guitar teams like K.K. Downing & Glenn Tipton of Judas Priest, Keith Richards & Ron Wood of The Rolling Stones, Slash & Izzy Stradlin of Guns'N'Roses; of course, Joe Perry & Brad Whitford of Aerosmith; I really like John 5 from NIN and Manson; Nancy Wilson of Heart for her classical approach to rock without making it sound progressive; I loved the Runaways and Joan Jett . . . not really musically but just as a role model. I admire anyone who actually succeeds at their dream. That is such an accomplishment.
