About Me

Budda Chi, aka Xin, the Black Sicilian was born and bred in Birmingham started out as a Garage MC 8 years ago playing in Clubs abroad from Majorca to Ayia Napa. Growing up in Birmingham, having material to write about came easy, as life was the opposite.Budda joined a Central TV drama workshop at 14 which took him all over the UK and led on to more work. Soon he got a small part in kids TV comedy programme Palace Hill ( Central Television ). Even though he had a period of acting on both stage and film in - The Sauna, Concrete Jungle ( Bad Boys in Stockings) and the Bill, his claim to fame came in the form of Chrysilis Radio Galaxy 102.2 Manhunt 2003 Competition. After winning the title of Midlands Sexist male voted by the public and appearing as Mr March in the 2003 Calender, he moved his career on dabbling in modeling for various agencies and Labels e.g Topman, Diesel and Emporio Armani. While this was going on he was touring with Galaxy from Clothes Show (Manhunt Calender Launch) to roadshows with the likes of Christina Milian, Blue, Shakira, Romeo, Big Brovas, this gave him his angle into music.Fellow school friend and artist Blaq-I who had already started in the music game and gave him a few pointers. It wasn’t long before he linked up with Urban Monk, a well established producer, who hooked him up with the right sound’s. Stop Rushin was completed featuring Ian "JAMO" Cambell who also responsible for the track structure alongside Ian Benson, and before long Life Speed followed. Benson was also responsible for tracks like, The Runaround, Alright, On the Moon and Flow.Budda "Xin" Chi decided to spread his wings by performing in Spain, Italy and Cyprus. But here in the UK, has played with DJ Shogun. They raising ££££s at Birmingham "Dance away da Disaster" gig in aid of the Tsunami Victims which was held at St Georges School, Edgbaston. He then went on raising awareness by playing monthly in Barcelona, Malaga and Prague towards the end of 2005.For two months during the summer break annually, Budda Chi road tests the latest Motorbikes and writes for Internet Bike Mag, as well as recreational sports like Kung Fu, Kickboxing, Parachuting, Base Jumping and Snowboarding! In 2006, Budda Chi join up with Ex Rock band Masnada to form "MONFLOR", after completing a voice over in a animated DVD promotion for "Moak" coffee. This helped him quench his thirst for Rock music with a hint of madness, but a touch of class. "Can U See the Light" and a rock version of "Life Speed" was devised. This has done nothing but show flexibility and diversity, when it comes to music and genre. With the members of the band tied to family commitments he pushed on knocking out lyrics for tunes produced by Kut D and BiggieThis will be reflected in his album "Spitting Flies" in 2007/08, and will incorporate his energy with unique beats, adaptable flos and catchy lyrical content.

Influences: I have never been the sort of person to be tied to one style or type of music. Growing up my family had a very varied music range. Motown, The Police, Greensleves, Marvin Gaye, Smilee Culture, Bob Marley, Nat King Cole, Shinehead and of course Micheal Jackson plus the standard Reggae, Ska, Soul, Blues and RnB.
