About Me

I like stuff. I also enjoy doing things. Sometimes I work. Sometimes I sleep. Sometimes I eat. Sometimes I do nothing and love it. Sometimes I do nothing and hate it. Specificity is not always my forte.

My profession is dramaturgy. Before you even have the chance to ask what the hell that is, I've gone and saved you the trouble of using Google: http://www.dramaturgy.net/dramaturgy/what/Description.html .

I was freelance for a number of years but now I work as an institutional dramaturg for a TYA company. I still do freelance work.

I've been living in Toronto for five years. Previous residences include: Philadelphia area, Baltimore and Glasgow.

I have two black shorthair cats: Balzhur and Loki. They will kick your ass if they have to. Most likely they will purr like contented whores and beg unforgivingly for your attention.

I'm a bit weirded out about having a myspace page.

And that's all for now....

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Other theatre artists.

People with overlapping music tastes who can suggest the best thing I've never heard of.

Anyone who doesn't threaten my narrowly constructed world view with ideas or opinions contrary to my own (Well, actually that last one may be exactly who I don't want to meet. So I guess "anyone" would have been more succinct, but in an place of first impressions, I had to give some content, didn't I?)

People I've managed to lose over the years.

People who I will manage to not lose over the years as well (Meaning I won't move away to foreign countries quite so often if I can avoid it).

Superhuman mutants.

People who enjoy introducing themselves to random people.

People who reply to random things I send them.

Once again I've have numerous small topics come up that might have been blog-worthy on their own but I have been too busy to actually write them down.  Last year the summer was the part of the th...

draising

Yesterday I attended my first gala fundraiser where my attendance did not consist of carrying cocktail wieners wrapped in pastry around on a tray or clearing away empty wine glasses with thick lipstic...

Adventures in Biking

Sunday was a gorgeous day.  In fact, so were the two days preceding it.  It was so lovely that I decided to take an extended bike ride.  Upon the advice of a friend, I decided to check ...

The dilemna dilemma

Before this blog even goes anywhere, I would like to state for the record that I have consulted multiple dictionaries and confirmed that the proper spelling of the word I am about to discuss is, in f...

Scorched

Scorched is playing at Tarragon until the 31st of March.  Go see it.  It's phenomenal.  One minor complaint, which I'll keep to myself, but otherwise really really impressed and people ...

Underachievers, please try harder

So thanks to a clandestine exchange of funds and scraps of paper, I did manage to see Camera Obscura/Essex Green tonight.   Camera Obscura was pretty pretty pretty.  They sounded divine.&nbs...

For the record

The spotlights at the Air Canada Centre are gorgeous in the snow.  They look like shimmering sabres when the snowflakes are large and fluffy.   Myspace sucks for failing to post the previous...

Resolute

I made a resolution for myself this year that was utterly boring.  This isn't a singular occurrence.  It would be acceptable to even dub it a pattern.  My resolutions tend to be difficu...
