Sun Also Rises, Farewell to Arms, Flowers for Algernon, 1984, To Kill a Mockingbird, Mists of Avalon, books on religious philosophy, The Onion, Of Mice and Men, Anguished English, anything by Miss Manners, The Early Bird, How to Eat Fried Worms, I love a captivating series (HP, Narnia, Trixie Beldon), The Jungle, Blubber, Frankenstein, Angela's Ashes, and gimme a glass of wine and some good ole Hemingway, cheesy vampire books, and/or some Beverly Cleary any day.
