Who is Morbyus?
Morbyus is an experimental blues band consisting of two main members, Craig and Shawna. The two combine their different styles to create a music that is reminiscent of the blues.
"Rain Song" and "Pairs" are originals of Craig and Shawna, who described themselves as "a folky blues style, with some experimental, electronic, and what ever else we dream up. Our sets consist of our Original Blues songs intermingled with some standard jazz covers with a gypsy "pump" and, you can't go wrong when you add a Creedence cover. Craig's smooth and melodic guitar licks accompanied by my song equals a feel good evening. Keep checkin' in on us. We have a regular gig at Over Coffee. We are currently recording an album but because of constrictions in time and money it is a slow progress. We are accepting donations for our worthy cause (ha ha)"

Influences: PINK FLOYD, RADIOHEAD, CLASSICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL MUSIC, and from there we differ.
Shawna's influences- All the female greats: Bjork, Janis Joplin, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Portishead, Tori Amos, Stevie Nicks, etc. etc. etc. I really have no dislikes but am into Ravi Shankar and World music: Irish, African, etc. etc. etc. (and I enjoy the word excetera). I am also into Gypsy Jazz, Django!
Craigs influences- Django Reinhardt, David Gillmore, Roger Waters, Eric Clapton, all the blues greats, Tarraga, Fernando Sor, and the music I have yet to discover.
Sounds Like: It depends on the mood we're in. What do you think it sounds like?
